I never used an online shopping site before and I don't know if they'll send it to me, somewhere in the south-east of Europe all the way from America.

we're getting married at the end of March and want to spend 5 or so nights in Venice on honeymoon. We're looking for a reasonable hotel and while there's loads to choose from on t'internet, I've no idea where to start! Also, ideas on places and things to see/do while we're there as well as the obvious ones like San Marco Plaza, gondolas etc...

thanks in anticipation!

Well I went there in 1963, to Varna, on the Black Sea, then hopped on a coach to Sofia, which fell off the mountain road.
The ride on a camel was fun, the massive waves were great, and I was only eight years old, living on Bulgarian Goat & Chips.
I suppose it has all changed.
The Q is - has anyone been there recently ?
And what is it like now ?
I fancy returning.
Bob.

I passed my driving test today!! (:-D) and don't want to buy a car as I'm possibly living somewhere in Europe in a couple of months (Spain...somewhere like that) within a tourism job and will be provided with a car. Thing is, I'll have no experience of driving on my own before I go there. Is that a bad idea?

The one I've heard the very least about is Bulgaria. I have no idea about their culture, language or their relationship with other countries. The sound of Bulgaria just conjures up the vaguest non-image in my mind. I guess I need to go there.

Which one is it for you? Why?
