Can Eu members board a plane going from one EU country to another without a passport?

If someone is a EU belongs to an EU nation, can they board a plane going from one EU country to another using only their ID card?

Yes

In the EU website it is recommended to carry with your your passport OR identity card. You are meant to be able to travel freely without showing any documents AT ALL due to the Schenger Agreement in the thirteen countries that signed the agreement (Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Spain, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Finland and Sweden.)

'The practicalities of free movement within an area without internal border controls were first set out by the Schengen Agreement in 1985 and the subsequent Schengen Convention in 1995 that abolished controls on internal borders between the signatory countries. The Amsterdam Treaty on the European Union, which came into force on the 1 May 1999, incorporated the set of measures adopted under the Schengen umbrella into the Unions legal and institutional framework. These measures are now fully accepted by 13 EU Member States (with the exception of the United Kingdom and Ireland), as well as other countries external to the Union (Norway and Iceland). Depends---- be advised that it needs to be a SCHENGEN zone country as well. Some EU countires are not Scengen members and you will need to show your passpor For the others iit is like flying within the same country. They will need to show some kind of ID at check-in and security though. But a passport would not be needed...
