we're getting married at the end of March and want to spend 5 or so nights in Venice on honeymoon. We're looking for a reasonable hotel and while there's loads to choose from on t'internet, I've no idea where to start! Also, ideas on places and things to see/do while we're there as well as the obvious ones like San Marco Plaza, gondolas etc...

thanks in anticipation!

Eevry little bit of Venice is wonderful, including the islands Murano, Torcello, Burano. Make sure you don't stay outside Venice, like in Mestre. It's better to stay in Venice for a honeymoon. Find a good old Palazzo in a good state. I had seen Palazzo Priuli when I was there, I haven't stayed there, but it looked nice. If you find the restaurant Oliva nera, near the Church of S. Giorgio dei Greci (St. George of the Greeks), eat there, it is expensive but worth it!

Well, Can't help you with that cuz I stayed at the Zitelle Hostel which is about 5 to 10 minutes away from Piaza San Marcos. Although I should let you know that most of the time it rains ALOT there, so make sure you bring something to protect yourself. I got soakkked wetttt, but still had fun. Visit the Guggenheim museum it's small but nice.

A great place to get an answer for which hotel is tripadvisor.com. It's a website where people write in about their experiences at hotels. The good thing is that you have multiple opinions on the hotels. I have had very good luck finding good hotels with the help of this site.
