The one I've heard the very least about is Bulgaria. I have no idea about their culture, language or their relationship with other countries. The sound of Bulgaria just conjures up the vaguest non-image in my mind. I guess I need to go there.

Which one is it for you? Why?

Moldova.

A recent country, seldom appearing in the news and very small, difficult to travel to and within.

Albania would pop into my mind...actually a lot of the east european countries I have no clue about and not thought much about. I know though that tourism is starting to boom for a lot of them and people go there because it's cheap to vacation & spa there.

It's the one I don't know the name and I don't even know quite where it is. Not even sure if it is still a country or not.
