And the best destinations. It's for a family of three, one is a teenager who wants to explore, but the other two are adults that have back problems so they can't do much.

My husband and I are going on our first cruise. I want to experience the Captain's dinner (formal night), but I don't want to be embarrassed by being underdressed. My husband does own a dark suit, but we are both (him especially) fairly casual people. Does he really need to wear a suit? If no, does he have to wear a tie? What about me? How formal does my dress really need to be? My understanding is that some ships are (unofficially) more casual than others. Is that true of the Ectasy? (Carnival line, sailing to Cozumel)

We are waiting for our taxes to be done before booking last minute cruise and plan to cruise April 12. Most likely we won't have the payment for it till 3/15/07 (maybe 3/9/07) and are hoping to cruise from Port Canaveral but are willing to go to any other FL port. Are we being silly or will there still be availability "last minute" like this?

Hi All. We're long time cruisers and we take a large (40-50) size group every 18 months or so. Most of the group is age 28 - 45, mixed couples and singles. Very social and like a good time. We've always taken Carnival, and always had a great time, but certainly have had our share of what others say. We're not stuffy or terribly picky on upscale - just like to be on a ship where there will be lots of fun minded people to mingle with. We're considering going on Norwegian and I'm wondering if anyone can comment on the typical crowd there? We like to socialize so would tend to want to avoid the senior citizens or families with lots of kids. No offense to either group! Our group is a mix of married and singles, so we're not looking for a singles cruise, but we do like the late night crowd and mingling with others our age. Would we be disappointed on Norwegian?

New cruisers. However, been to Riviera many times. Capri our favorite, followed by Cannes and Monaco.

My family consists of my parents who are 57 and 51, my brother who will be 21 at the time and myself at 18 years old. I'm planning our vacation for this summer and we're taking a Royal Caribbean cruise somewhere in the Caribbean--probably the western islands. It's our first cruise but we have no idea which ship is a good choice since there are so many of them..any suggestions?

This is the first cruise for me...what is the best line, and what should I know about before I book the trip?

If you have gone to Alaska before on a cruise, or have gone on a cruise before, what do you like about it, what do I need to know?

My husband and I want to go on a cruise for the first time this summer. It will be our last summer without kids. Our sons are spending a month with the grandparents, and I am pregnant with number 3. So we want to take advantage of this window of opportunity. We would like a 5-7 day cruise, some place romantic and exotic, for as inexpensive as possible. We would like to keep the air fare and cruise at $2000.00 or less. Any ideas? And what are the additional expenses on board? Do they charge for food, etc. or is it included? We are complete rookies at this. We don't even have passports yet. But I know you guys out there can help. THANKS!!

Are there any cruises that stop in Dominican Republic? I really want to go to DR for my vacation in May but I dont have anyone to go with me because all my friends either dont have money or cant get off work.

So I decided that I can take a cruise and stop there, but I'm not sure if any goes there. I looked at a few sites and the caribbean cruises I see do not stop there.

If anyone knows any cruise lines that stops in DR that would help me out a lot.

Thanks

Also, is it better to sit at a table with just the four of us or should we sit at a larger table? The kids ages are 12 and 9. We have never cruised before and are about to take a Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas cruise this summer
