I have take both a 3 day and a 7 day cruise. I found the 3 day one was too short and I felt rushed and like I didnt get to do everything. The 7 day cruise was long. After the 5th day of drinking, laying in the sun, etc. I was exhausted. I always said a 5 day cruise would be the right amount of time.

We have taken both 5- and 7- day cruises.
We selected a 5-day cruise when we took our entire family (19-guests) for a family reunion cruise.
The first time cruisers had a great time on the 5-day cruise but the experienced cruisers wanted more time.
The 5-day cruise will give you the cruise experience but just less of it....only 1 formal night, 2 ports instead of 3 or 4.
The 5-day trips are usually on the older ships in the fleet with less amentities and more wear and tear.

We took a Carnival 5 day to Jamaica and Grand Cayman.. (one of our 6 cruises we've been on).. We liked the ports.. but the ship was not as nice as the others we had been on.. More trashed and it, honestly, was a different class of people than we had found on the 7+ day cruises..

We haven't take a 3 day, but wanted to this winter. We did take a 5 day to Bermuda and loved it. Of course we love Bermuda anyway! We've also been on 14 day cruises and found them to be too long. I think a 5 day one is perfect myself.

Yes I have take 3 day and 7 day, and prefer 7day. The other is too short and you would like more time. If you have the choice of 3 or 5 take the last one. And you will enjoy better.

Go to http://www.love.allabouthoneymoons.com they can plan any type of trip not just honeymoons and destination weddings. If you tell them what you like and your budget they will plan the perfect trip for you.Best of all if you use there service to book your trip there service is free b/c the fee is paid by the hotel, cruise line or resort.
The longer the cruise is = the newer the ship= the bigger ship.
