I am looking to buy an island in the Florida Keys or the Caribbean (preferrably the Bahamas or US Virgin Islands). I have contacted a broker and checked out privateislandsonline and Vladi Private Islands, but what else should I do? Also, what size is best to start out at, without getting extravagent?

I'm no where near rich by the way, but this is what I want.

I know it is deemed the hurricane season during September but I still want to travel to the caribbean but am not sure which island would be the least wet and have the most sunshine. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Come on get with it!! Turks Caicos belongs to Britian!! Not Canada, besides, I am here right now, and this island isn't really anthing great to write home about. The beaches are beautiful, but hey, the people are not the friendliest. They walk with a slouch and their feet slop around like they are really doing you a favor like serving your food really puts them out, very rude people. Unless they are from the states or canada or elsewhere..........the locals just don't have people skills. Im staying at the Ocean Club and they do not go out of their way to help. I say go to Aruba, they are so friendly and help in any way they can. I really think Turks is beautiful, but face it......if the locals can't have people skills then forget it. Driving is difficult unless you are use to driving on the left. Food is twice as much as other islands, including Aruba, sorry i do favor Aruba, my experience was fabulous..Imported food is extremely expensive. Very expensive here in Turks.

I'd like to take a vacation with wife and 12 yr. old daughter in Caribbean or Costa Rica in mid-March (NOT durin public school vacation), but due to some health issues our ability to take the vaca is uncertain. Usually I book winter vacas many months in advance, but if I am going to take on this year I'll need to do a "last minute" vacation.

How hard will it be to accomplish this on a last minute basis? What travel web site/travel agent would be best to help me with this? Thanks!

The plane fares with scheduled airlines are more than the cost of the package deal that I am looking at. Any suggestions on cutting the cost of the flight without forfeiting the great accomodations that I have found to the Windjammer Landing Beach Club in St. Lucia. Are there any round trip fares for less than $400 from Baltimore, MD DC area to St. Lucia?
