The plane fares with scheduled airlines are more than the cost of the package deal that I am looking at. Any suggestions on cutting the cost of the flight without forfeiting the great accomodations that I have found to the Windjammer Landing Beach Club in St. Lucia. Are there any round trip fares for less than $400 from Baltimore, MD DC area to St. Lucia?

Probably not, living in Barbaods the air fares are one of our BIG challenges in that they are TOO HIGH!!!!
Actually, $400.00 return is pretty good. So just go for it and enjoy yourself. Be sure to drive in to the volcano!! It is very awesome!!

For St. Lucia there are limited carriers that fly into this island. The demand is there, but the supply just isn't. I understand and respect that you want to stay under a certain price. But you also need to be realistic in your expectations.

Are you booking in advance? If not then that is your issue right there. Probably limited availability and no advance purchase. You said you found great accommodations, how so? Are you doing this as a package or putting this together separately? Doing it as a package typically gives you a savings on the air. Without knowing more information it is hard to answer further.

If you are trying to do this on your own, why not give your local travel agent a try. Despite what some might think we don't tack on commissions. The tour companies we work with add the commission. You can call them direct and pay the same price, it's just they get more money considering they don't have to pay a travel agency.
