They say aluminum boats are not for salt water. If your transom is tall enough for the waves, and you have enough power, why cant you hit the coast? Salt water erodes everything, not just aluminum, and if you clean the boat afterwards, whats the problem?

I'm going surfing on saturday for my friend's birthday. I bought this board at costco for $100, its foam and its 8 feet long. I know how to surf. Like you just get the wave that pushes you then you try to stand up but I only did it one other time. I need tips on balance and all that. Thx

I haven't been diving long at all, yet in the past 6 dives I've logged in the last two weeks, I have been the only female diving. On one dive, the DM who stayed on shore was a female, but other than that, there have been no ladies around diving. I'm just trying to understand what that is about... SCUBA certainly doesn't seem like a sexist sport at all, and fortunately for me, the guys I've been hanging around and diving with are nice people that treat me like I'm their pal.
So, where are the other girl divers?

I just moved back to the area and want to find a crew rowing club, or start one. Are there any established community rowing clubs in the area (not college)? Is there anyone with experience in sculling or sweep rowing, or interest in learning? Does anyone have any ideas how I would go about starting a club in the Boise area?
