Volleyball tryouts are coming up in two weeks for my school and when I hit the ball as I serve an overhand, my hand is closed. The thing is, I heard that the coach tells people to serve open handed for more control and that she hates when people serve an overhand with a closed fist.

If she tells me at tryouts to serve an overhand open handed, how should i respond?

How do I actually serve the volleyball overhand open handed with more control and power?

ok so i am a varsity volleyball player in highschool and am also going to be playing in college as well. I am five foot ten and compared to my other people on our school's team, i am pretty tall. However, in college will i be considered short?

I'm considering joining a volleyball team at my school next year. I am usually not a sporty person, but I really want to play. The coach told me that most girls come in with no experience (that would be me). I am not usually good at sports either. I'll have effieicent training before the season though.
Do you think it would e a good idea to go out for the team?
I've never played a sport on a real team before and I don't want to ruin championship chances for everyone. But there is a possibility I might be good at v-ball.
