Get a box (or stack some stuff) about 18-24 inches tall. Jump over the box from a standstill/one-step position, then turn and immediately jump back. Do as fast as you can. Repeat until you have done 10 reps. Do about 3 sets mixed with jogging, lifting weights.

Another exercise is jump up and touch backboard/ceiling from 2 feet - 10 reps. Then off left foot - 10 reps. Then off right foot - 10 reps. This works on quick burst, needed for jumping high.

There are great responses before this on conditioning and jumping...do them then add these...
Blocking the hitting drill....this has multiple benifits, you get eight or more reps per a hitter, plus you work on your jump timing and it gives you another skill to focus on...what to do with your hands in the block.
Run stairs...I used to do a follow the leader with the whole team behind me... up and down stairs for a half an hour as warmup before practices. This helps with jump conditioning...not just how high you can jump once, but can you jump over 30" more than 30 times in ten minutes...this is more important to the player who plays a lot of games.
Deep sand outdoor volleyball. If you can find quality deep sand, a summer playing this makes jumping so easy it's silly. Think about trying to jump your full height and only going up a foot or two. The added benifit here is there are less injuries in sand volleyball, so this is a great rehab for the abuse that your joints take in season. You will also have that jumping conditioning from this as well.

On your question about jumping higher. I've learned that if you do some explosive jumping and working out with your legs helps. I did squats, at least 3 sets of 15. Do what you can lift. Than do the explosive jumping. Plus you get to get your legs in shape.

Mark the height of your net on a wall and then with both arms raised jump as high as you can. Or use a marker to mark where you touched on the wall and aim for higher than what you first jumped. It's what my team has to do every time we practice. Start with doing two sets of ten. And as you jump higher add a set.

I played volleyball for six years and the best jumping exercise is standing facing a wall, jump as high as you can and put a piece of tape as a marker of where your highest was. Do 25 jumps 5 times touching or going over the tape. This helped me tremendously!!!!!!!!

try ankle weights, then mark a spot on the wall, jump and touch the spot, do about 20 jumps. Then after u get use to it and take off the weights, it will seem a whole lot easier to jump higher. its a technique that our volleyball coach makes us do, its pretty cool.
