well... overhand serves is what you want to try serving for power but to make underhands serves more powerful if to strike the ball really hard and not at the VERY bottom of the ball hit it hard and a little more on the side of the ball, if you hit it at the bottom it will go up and drop easy for the other team to return but giving it force is alot harder to return(and when serving take a step forward it adds power)

They don't get as much as powerful as overhand serves, but you can use a great tactic when using underhand serves especially when the sun is high.Serve the ball as high as you can, that way the opponent will have a hard time getting a good reception of the ball.

I think that the under serve get's more power because it's like softball when you push off with your foot it lunges it fowered but in volleyball it's just speed!!
