Honestly, I'm not a big soccer fan, but I do feel that as an American, it's respectful to show support, even if you don't like or understand the game.

I heard that the koreans think it's stupid for chinese cheering for the korea team. I am chinese, but i've been cheering for korean team in fifa wc 2006 and also bought korean items like "be the reds!" badana.. the reason why many chinese and I cheered the korean team is because we are all asian and would like for the korean team to advance for Asia. But appreantly, I heard the korean don't think that way and some korean even said if you are not korean, don't wear reds and holding korea flags. This really dissappoint me.. so is this what majority of the korean thinks or just some?

Don't you think that the referee of the match between Argentina and Mexico was extremely bias against Mexico? Till the beginning of the game I was favouring Argentina, while it the referee made me mad!

Wow, what a terrific game! Argentina has beaten Mexico and I FINALLY know who I am going to see play in Berlin on Friday.

I'm really excited about it; I've never been to a big soccer match before. I know the atmosphere in the stadium is going to be electric!

My problem is that as a neutral, I can't decide who to cheer for at the game.

I've spent time in Germany and have a few German friends, but I suspect that with most of the crowd willing them on, they won't really need my support.

Argentina will go into the match as clear favourites, so Germany should get the underdog vote.

Aaargh! I just don't know! Who should I cheer for? And why?

PS I need to decide ahead of time so I can buy the appropriate shirt to wear to the match.

Can anyone explain to me the basic scoring in World Cup soccer/football? How many games do they play? Is it like best of 3, 5, 7? Each goal worth a point? Team with most goals moves to next round? Thanks!

Mexico v Argentina. Im not sure whether Mexicans are shouting this or if it is Argentina supporters. Every time the goalkeeper takes a goal kick the crowd shout something - what are they saying?
