It was the first game I watched start to finish in this world cup and it was a great game. Toward the end you could tell Mexico getting frustrated and I think that's why they couldn't come up with a goal to make the tie.
I think the better team won in the end and they were my pick since team USA was defeated.
Congrats to Argentina on a great victory and applaud Mexico for a valiant effort against a tough opponent.

Argentina won 2-1. It was a struggle to my surprise, Argentina being favorites and a 2 time World Cup winner. But, Mexico did make it hard for them, and I think Argentina wasn´t playing that well...Well, also they had just had the game against Holland 3 days previously. I´m sure in their upcoming game next week with Germany they will play much better.
But, overall it was an interesting game. Mexico should be happy that they made a goal against Argentina and that they made it difficult for them. Nice job, but the best team won.

Don't blame the ref. Mexico played very good, Argentina was just better than them. By the way, the lineman stole a goal from Argentina.

Heinze should have been sent off! Overall I think Argentina played rather poorly(okay or atleast better toward the end), considering they are said to be a superior team for this world cup. They need to improve if they have a chance of going up against the likes of Brazil. Mexico played quite good but they got desperate at the end, but who can blame them really!

I thought that Mexico played its best game so far in the world cup and was so close to winning. lets just say i really hope germany will win the game with argentina

Argentina just kicked Mexico's butt. Mexico's coach did not make good decisions.

It was the most exciting game so far. It was crazy to see how evenly matched the two teams were (Lavolpe's work, no doubt - way to betray your own country! lol), and Maxi's goal was the most beautiful thing I've seen this world cup.
Mexico was a worthy opponent; unlike poor Serbia & Montenegro, they can lose to Argentina but still hold their heads high because they fought hard.

both teams played reasonably the game had it's moments but overall was rather slow, the goal that seperated the two teams at the end of extra time was undeniably one of the best of the tournament, Argentina came out deserved winners but made it hard on themselves by not finishing the game earlier

i know it was so dramatic i got so mad Mexico lost off of that far shot of Argentina and made it in the high corner!!!
