Honestly, I'm not a big soccer fan, but I do feel that as an American, it's respectful to show support, even if you don't like or understand the game.

Also, keep this in mind. Our version of foot isn't like Europe's version. We play, "Kill the guy with the pig skin in his hand." Our version is the best I think! Especially MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL! :)

Well, at least we here in the States, don't go bonkers at "football" games, after our team loses, destroying the bleachers, running amuck in the streets, among other things.

Yes I am black. I'm an American so I do support American athletic teams. Just in case somebody has something smart to say out there. :)

There are 243 intities considered to be "countries". Out of that 32 made it to World Cup - one of which was the US and undoubtedly you can bet that out of the other 211 there are a considerable number where soccer is more popular and supported than in the US. Having said that I just feel honored that our team made it and was a part of it at all and not the least bit shocked that we didn't fair better. But it doesn't mean that I won't be hoping for a better showing next time.

I was disappointed, but a team that only managed to score 1 goal in 3 matches didn't deserve to advance, so.....

Masterrat: Americans use their feet in football (I mean ours, not soccer) as you would if a 300 linebacker was coming after you. Stick to your mastery of rats, other than soccer sports don't seem to be your thing.

ARGENTINA: No, we're not the only ones in the world to say soccer. Ever heard of the socceroos? Australia has their own game called football (which take it from an unbiased american is THE best game in the world) so they say soccer too. Have fun with the Germans, they're a better team than mexico and I'll make sure to laugh when you lose to them.

obviously the americans didn't play there best against ghana however anyone who watches the game or follows it closely at all can tell you that it is a game where the best team doesn't always win the game. remember that ghana got there 2 goals because of a defensive error by claudio reyna and a questionable pk called by the ref if it hadn't been for those two things the us wins 1-0. as far as it goes for the play of the us overall i think they could have taken advantage of the space ghana was allowing them when a us player had the ball and was attacking. That's where someone like landon donovan who was almost nonexistent in the game could have been big with his speed and ability to dribble the ball through and around would be defenders

USA sucks at pretty much everything...lets see...In soccer, the US is 5 in the world ahead of teams like Argentina, England or Spain, you may wonder why? well, the answer is simple...Marketing. The US sucks at soccer and while they have gone to 5 straight world cups, the only reason for that is because they play crappy teams like Haiti, El Salvador or Barbados in order to qualify....they would never get in if they had to play Argentina, Brazil or Ecuador in South America...so you might say...hell we don't even care about soccer! (which is called football everywhere but here) it's boring! there's no enough scoring! I guess it's easy if you make 1 count as 6 (sounds familiar?).. well then let me give you some info about the sports you really care about...Basketball...The US went to the olympics with players like Dwayne Wade, Allen Iverson & Tim Duncan among others only to be eliminated by Argentina (they won the gold medal and they only have 1 NBA player)...Baseball...The World Baseball Classic, organized by americans, played on american soil, was won by Japan...the US didn't even make it to the semifinals...hell isn't baseball america's sport?...Hockey...The US team was eliminated in the Torino Olympics by Finalnd, no medals there either...Tennis...haha next...I guess you can take some pride on being good at football, but that's because nobody else in the world plays that crap...and by the way it should be called handball...

Are you kiddin' me? That was the third best game I've seen so far (the first is Ghana-Czech and the second is Mexico-Argentina). I wanted Ghana to win so bad, and they did. Now the US and Czech Republic are out, there's at least one African team in the top 16, and the world's a happier place.

Honestly, I felt great. I mean look, you americans believe you're the kings of the world due to your economy, power, guns, etc, and you can't be perfect and great as shown on football!! Another thing that makes me sick is that you say "soccer". Guys, is not soccer, it's football!! You're the only country in the world who says soccer, why are you against everyone?

I was happy only cuz the US was talking **** about all the other teams and were overly confident. So instead of training hard like they were supposed to have done, they were too busy talking about how the other teams weren't good. So that is what happens when you're too confident.
If they would've entered with a different attitude I might have felt bad for them.

ooo...in my opinion, Ghana was playing kind of dirty, I felt that half of their fouls were them playing the refs. They would barely get clipped and theyd fall for a foul call, but the worst was at the end when they would lay down to attempt to stop the game while the clock was running and then theyd get up and smile like nothing was wrong. I was getting PO'ed.

Me i'm from africa, so even though i live in the us, i wanted ghana to win cause you know it was my home country. But i don't see a reason why us should feel bad. i mean ghana had a really good midfield so i'd say they had a better chance of winning anyway.

It's not like I was going to cry or anything, but I wasn't happy at all. It seems like we're such a big, powerful country and we lose to countries like Ghana. I've never really followed the World Cup until this year, and I'm liking it. I wanted to see the US team advance, but hey, what can you do.
