Hi. I just wanted to ask if anyone else felt the same way about football as I do.

I don't know much and can't really understand what they do on pitch, but I really enjoy it anyway... and talking about it. To me it's just one of the leisures in life... I'm glad I discovered it. Oh and if you haven't already guessed I'm a recent convert from this year's World Cup.

So I wanted to ask, why do you like football and how do you feel it adds to your life? Because, this forum has turned into a general arena for questions and thoughts on football and the players' attitudes and such. It's not so much about this summer's events anymore.

What's wrong with football these days? Khalid Boulahrouz is wearing number 9 and William Gallas is the successor to Dennis Bergkamp's number 10 shirt. What on earth is this? Don't you think it's simply NOT RIGHT for defenders to wear 9's and 10's? Those numbers are MEANT for the team's playmakers, goalscorers, heroes and mainly the ones who steal the limelight UP FRONT! Especially number 10, it is THE number! Player number 10 is always the one who either creates or scores the most goals for the team and Arsenal gave that number to a newly signed defender??? At Chelsea, the number 10's Joe Cole, someone who till now, has not been a confirmed regular. Yes, he's a great player and unlucky to suffer from injury but think, is he the number 10 kinda guy?? So guys, what do you think? Do you think it's time we say goodbye to the times when only the team's greatest like Pele or Maradona deserve THE number 10 shirt???

im not a newcastle fan and this isnt an attack on newcastle it seems to me they r a huge club with plenty of money and a super fan base so is it because they keep buying strikers when they cleary lack defensive quality or is it cos they keep gettin crap managers or something else your veiws please

People can't say we're having played 'no one' we've taken a point away at chelsea, our only defeat is against liverpool and we seem to be beating the mid table teams...

is this just a bubble waiting to burst... cos its the same squad we had last year when we finished 15th

So what do others think? are we over achieving in this position or is it just the managerial skills of MON?
