I live in Italy and I'm half Italian and I can tell you why. I've been disliking Italian attitude for the past 10 years, there's a lot of "vittimismo" here, people feel as if everyone is against Italy, everyone is envious because Italy is the best country in the world (which is not true, come live here and you'll see for yourself). I'm talking about this on an Italian blog on msn (go see for yourself if you're interested www.msn.it and then look for blog sports and find my comments under faerie poet in the news related to zidane or golden ball award) and you'll see how much I've been insulted and mistreated morally. It's that horrible Italian attitude of feeling that they are the best people on Earth and everyone else is always trying to say something bad about them. Well see what so many Italians said about the French, the Germans, the Ukrainians etc.

You're right. I'm not Italian though but I'm an Italian fan and I think everybody has the right to express their opinion in here but this does not include offenses and insults to Italy and Italy's fans. That isn't fair in my opinion but that happens a lot in the forum.
Abt your second question I think Italy had before and has got now great football players. I can mention you 2 that have won the Golden ball like Roberto Baggio and Gianni Rivera who are considered to be legends in Italian football. And players like Baresi, Maldini etc even if they are defenders can be equally compared to Zidane too coz you should judge how great a player is for the role he plays (technically) and for the man he is (the character). I think both those players I mentioned are great men too, you should just see what have they done during their career and I'm sorry but Zidane can't even compare with them if we talk abt character and personality

I think that you have met people who behave like this somewhere and you thought that all italians are like this.
Wrong. I am italian, I live in Italy, and I can tell you that what happened in the world cup is almost forgotten. Now what we talk about is (soccer topics) how Italy is playing, why most of the good players are missing, and if we will be able to go to Euro 2008.
If we won the World cup is because we have been good, lucky and cynical, but i wouldn't say that we have been the strongest.
Talking about Zidane it's a shame that after the WC he has won the prize for the best player of the tournament, simply because in the judgement they were supposed to consider also the fair play, and there hasn't been a lot in the final.
Italy isn't a country that creates big champions and the proof is that most of the italian players remain in Italy. Italy is good in assembling good players together to make good teams.
Apart from this I am a fan of AS Roma and I think that a player like Totti has never been taken into much consideration even though he should because when you follow all the matches of Roma you can see how precious he works for its team.

Aaaah, finally someone talking Football etiquette. That's what I have been reiterating for the last 3 months. If I dare saying that Cannavaro is not cutting it at Real and that Materazzi is a butcher, than some say that I don't like Italians and that I am bashing the general population, well I don't see a relevance. There, I said it for the 10,000th time but people will just discard it again.
I forgot the question, there will never be another one like Zizou, Italian or French or Brazilian, etc. etc. etc.

I am a Belgian who speaks Italian very good. I have visited Italy mostly and feature noticeable thirteen of the 20 areas. With strangers so much Italians talk the usual language. In small villages elder men and women are by and large no longer ready to talk it. I have additionally been a member of an Italian internet-web site within the USA. They had been all moment or 3rd iteration. Most of them didn't talk any Italian in any respect. A few spoke little or no. I needed to chat in English with them.

there are a few narrow-minded users here who doesnt care abt anyone but themselves. But these ppl are from all sides: Italy, England, France, Portugal etc. so the whole community in this forum has to reform and not just the italians.

I agree with Pinky & Juventina..
Well sometimes when you people exchange your opinions it goes way to far..
We don't even need Zidane! If he's such a great player why didn't he get to hold a World Cup more then once... ? at least our national team has legends like Paolo Maldini!
