And if so, will he stay retired?
Is he walking away at a good time, or do he have more to give to the sport?

Officiating during the world cup has been awful. Although the refs are supposed to be the best in the world, fouls are called when they should'nt be or not called at all when they should. To me, the solution is obvious, place more officials on the actual playing field. Few sports have only one. Basketball has three. Baseball has four-and six for the playoffs. American football has seven. Athletes today are more fit and faster than those of yesterday. Its about time that the FIFA recognized this by increasing the number of officials. I think that it would lead to less diving, fewer fouls and a fairer game.

BRASILIAN PAPERS AND MEDIA ARE TO ANNOUNCE 4 PLAYERS TO BE FORCED TO RETIRE "A LA LEONARD" WHO LEFT FOR PERSONAL REASONS AFTER HIS FIRST CUP IN 1998...WHEN DUNGA AND SEVERAL OTHERS ALSO RETIRED FOR PERSONAL REASONS...ZAGALLO RESIGNED IN 1998 AND WILL BE FORCED TO DO SO AGAIN AT THE END OF THE CUP. BRASIL IS WAITING FOR FRANCE TO WIN SO THEY CAN ANNOUNCE IT PUBLICALLY AND POSSIBLY THROW ITALY UNDER THE BUS AS WELL FOR SELLING OUT AS WELL!!!!

FIFA HAS PAID BRASIL AN INSURMOUNTABLE SUM(OBVIOUSLY MORE THAN FRANCE WILL GET PAID FOR WINNING THE CUP) TO NOT SCORE AGAINST FRANCE AND IS KEEPING EVERYTHING UNDER THE TABLE SO THAT THE INTEGRITY OF THE TOURNAMENT CAN CONTINUE..

I am Italian, and of course I want Italy to win tomorrow!!!

But I can't understand why so many people hate the French. Not only their team, but the nation in general.
I've been to France several times, and I can tell you it's a charming country. Paris is one of the most beautiful cities ever. France has good wine, good cheese, and its sophisticated cuisine is one of the most appreciated worldwide along with the Italian. They don't eat just frogs or snails. Granted, the French sometimes do sound a little snobbish and they do pronounce foreign names their own way, but they have good reasons for being proud of their country. They have a great cultural heritage -- novelists, poets, philosophers, painters, sculptors, architects. Modern art was born in France with the Impressionists. They were the first country to be a republic while all surrounding countries were still monarchies. Not all of the French vote for LePen or are racist. So, why do you people hate them?

Just curious...

The reason why aussie and americans cannot embrace the world game of football is they are too busy trying to be unique with their disgraceful "football" leagues which make me embarrased to be an aussie... Theres a reason why football is played worldwide and why aussie rules and NFL are played in their own countries.. and i love the excuses like.. "not enough points scored" thats how narrow minded you idiots are! Especially typical american egos calling their competitions "world series".. AH YEAH RIGHT!! NEWSFLASH!! its played only in your country!!!!
Football will always be the world game. Its an epic game, where one goal means the world. Its emotional and theres a reason why at the world cup nations cry when their teams are out. PASSION! So to my fellow aussies and americans, GET OVER IT coz ur game aint going no where! As for skill levels, anyone can throw people on the floor and jump all over each other like bush pigs.. and all off u have the nerve to say football has no skill!!

many teams who played better than the opposition have lost just because one of their player misses a shot on the goal, for example england played much better than potugal but they lost becausethey didnt do well in the penalties.
