It is not as if they are near-neighbours or anything. I was once told that the animosity stems from the last day of the 1982 championship season. Fiorentina were in line to win 'lo Scudetto' but Juventus had bribed a referee or something, and that particular match official awarded them a match-winning penalty.

This pic was of the runnerup in the first-ever Miss World Cup contest leading up to the action:

The eyelashes are a bit overdone:), but having a Dominican Republic girlfriend I can attest that these women in that part of the world are HOT and very self-confident, real and otherwise very attractive. Maybe the best woman I ever had was from Colombia. We all know as well that some of the ordinary -- or perhaps extraordinary -- fans are also babes from different lands. Where do think the most attractive women come from, and why?

Do midfielders make more tackles than defenders?

i just saw a very disturbing scene at a soccer match in europe. there was a slew of fans with nazi flags and swatstikas on signs doing the nazi salute. i have a few questions on this, how long has it been that bad over there, how ofter are scenes like that happening? do they have any chant and what are they and is fifa and other organizations doing anything about this? i didnt see anything about it on their website. i also saw banana peels thrown at a black player and he broke down and cried and i was wondering how come white teammates dont come over and comfort these guys? and how do they get these these signs and flags into the stadium? i dont know any info o this would be appreciated. i was just so shocked over what i saw and i had to find a forum for discussion on this.

By anyone else really, preferably by Iran or France. Freedom fries....d*ckheads! Stick to NFL (rugby for idiots invented at Yale because they couldn't play rugby), baseball (erm, rounders) or basketball (netball for guys).

Hiddink coached Korea in 2002 and he is currently coaching Australia. He also knows Korea's weaknesses

Korea's coach has an excellent experience in Europe so he could know Switzerland's weaknesses

Is he an idiot? he said he wants to humilliate Mexico. I mean what kind of player speaks like that prior to a World Cup?? That kind of comments spoil the nice spirit of this kind of competitions. The basis is always to respect each other.

YOU asked for it -- my World Cup predictions! Of course, my peerless prognostications have already appeared on other forums under my real name with detailed analysis as well. Since the response here was not unanimous, or revealing of advanced football knowledge in general, I will only give you a short version. Naturally, I expect all those in the know to fully agree with me and compensate me accordingly after you go out and bet and win a bundle.

BRASIL -- Seleção! That is ALL you need to know. They CANNOT be beaten or tied. Relentless attack and ball control will, for the first time in football history, render defense virtually unnecessary by the Auriverdes. Best player on Earth: Ronaldinho, one of the best creators: Kaka, EVERYONE a striker, an awesome coach, a PENTA in the bag, Dida in goal, Pele in the booth, Emerson rock-solid in the middle, Lucio and Juan patrolling in the rear. Best fans & women!

CROATIA -- also advances.

AUSTRALIA -- Guus who?

JAPAN -- poor Zico!

I'm talking soccer, footie, association football etc here. I think it's got to be one of Graham Taylor's 'one cap wonders.' Look at the worst ever England team as compiled by Observer Sport Monthly before Euro 2004. It is choc full of them!

Mexico is in Group D, and has to face one team of Group C. It could be either Argentina, Netherlands, Serbia & Montenegro, or Ivory Coast. Mexico has faced Argentina a couple of times but has lost painful games like the FIFA Confederations Cup when they loss in penalties. They also loss against Netherlands 2-1 not long ago, even though they were winning 1-0. With the Serbians and Ivory Coast they had never met, in this past 4 years.

My office is having a world cup soccer pool, but i don't know anything about soccer. Can people please tell me the #1 and #2 favorites to win in Groups A to H?

Please, actually answers based on stats and who is likely to win, not who you want to win. Thanks!
