Korea will win the group G. If the Australia is the runner up of their group they will meet Korea. It will be most unfortunate situation for Koreans an Hiddink. But it is better than Aussies getting knocked out in the first round.

I think those two countries will meet in the quarter-finals if Australia win their group, Korea are runners-up and those two countries win their respective 2nd-round matches

or

Australia are runners-up in their group, Korea win their's and those two countries win their respective 2nd-round matches.

You've worked my brain so hard that I cannot be bothered to confirm my belief that both teams cannot meet until the final should both teams win their group or finish runners-up in their group.

to be honest i don't really know because the world cup is very unpreditable, for example in 2002 world cup france was one of the favorites to win it all but they got knock out in the first round and didn't make it to the second round, so we just have to wait and see what happens

Nope. Neither will get out of their group (Aussies are in F and Koreans in G).
