The guy was great a couple years ago. In fact, he was pretty good last year as well. But lets face it, this year he has only played 4 games. FOUR GAMES! He's not even one of the top 5 centers in the league. So why are people still voting for him? He's not an All-Star. You need to play games to be an All-Star. I mean, if Dikembe Mutomobo played 4 games this season and put up 14 points and 7 rebounds (like Shaq did in his 4 games) would he get all those votes?
IMO, people are just voting Shaq because they don't want to accept the fact that he's on a down slope. Shaq is living off of his old glory.
So, does anyone have any reasons why Shaq, a player who played only 4 games this season, scoring only 14 PPG and 7 RPG, is getting the most votes in the East as a starter for the 2007 NBA All-Star game?
