Kobe is a stunningly great defender. You can't seriously tell me you didn't hit the replay button on you DVR over and over when he blocked Jameer Nelson's layup on the fast break. That is why you hustle. And about the 81 points, when asked what he was criticized most about he said "2 assists. I don't care about no 81 points, I just do what it takes to win." Besides, Melo averages 2 assists per game, and so does every Power Forward and center in the NBA. Kobe averages 5 assists per game, 1.3 steals per game, and 5 rebounds.
Anyway, the NBA star who plays the worst defense is: Steve Nash!!! Terrible, he averages 0.9 steals per game and 3 rebounds per game, and almost never contests shots.

Kobe plays defense only when he feels like it. He plays matador defense.
Lebron is also pretty bad.
But hands down, the worst defender in the NBA has to be Antawn Jamison for the Washington Wizards. Put him in the pick and roll and his man has a lay-up drill.

All u people who say Kobe are all idiots, he was on NBA Defensive 1st Team 3 times.
By far, Steve Nash is the worst defender. 0.9 steals.
and for your info Kobe did that LAST YEAR and that was because his teamates were not playing like they were payed to do.
