When you shoot do you fallow through with one hand or two? My Private coach from Ohio State says to fallow through with two hands but I just want your opinion.

Ok I know that your only supposed to shoot with one hand I'm not a complete moron. I'm just talking about fallowing through because my coach says to shoot with one and fallow through with two. it just feels wierd so I was wondering how the rest of you shoot.

I play basketball and my coach plays in the WNBA and she told me to always follow through with two hands even if you shoot with one hand.

Alot of times you should just do what feels most comfortable and what works for you. There is no one way to shoot a basketball, there is a "fundamentally" correct way to shoot but even that varies from coach to coach. My guide hand moves a little when I shoot but it isn't a full follow through. It feels awkward to not give any follow through with the guide hand but I hold the ball pretty high when I shoot.

Did your private coach from Ohio St. play ball 70 years ago? The only time you'd follow through with two hands is if you were shooting an underhand free-throw. Just watch and college or NBA game and you will see that no one does a 2 hand follow through. Shaq only uses one hand when he shoots a free-throw

I have never heard of following through a shot using 2 hands. If you did follow through with 2 hands, that could cause the basketball to spin sideways instead of rotating backwards like it should. You should follow through with just your shooting hand and not your other hand. The other hand is just there for guide and balance.

Dont listen to him because you follow with your primary hand left or right and you dont shoot with two hands that would be called throwing the ball.

Follow through with your primary shooting hand, one hand. The other hand is a guide.

You follow through with one hand, you use your other hand (non shooting hand) to guide the ball as you release

My shooting hand follows through, like fingers in the basket. My other hand stays right in place, it doesn't move at all. So they are both up in the air, I don't pull either down.
