Whats wrong with determination and effort?? I dont understand why you want him to give up. He sets a good example for his younger team mates and children everywhere...if im a dad right now teach my son to play basketball I dont show him vince carter or melo, I show him Mourning, the man gives 100 percent all the time, is a good team player and is a consumate professional. so im glad he wont quit
I cant beleive how many of you people think less of him for being a fine example of a hard worker, you are SUPPOSED to contest shots. Its his JOB...its what he gets paid to do

From all the failings that alonzo mourning encountered i his basketball profession, i do think of that he merits a gap interior the basketball hall of popularity because of the fact he became continually trouble-free as a magnificent shot blocker, and he represents the NBA in a great way contained domestically which persons relatively over seem.

Becoz he is a fearless competitor. He goes for almost every shot becoz he is confident and he knows that he is capable of blocking them. He is only a 6-10 center, in his 14th season, and his current 2.8 swats per game in 23mins of play is better than most centers. Give the man some love.

He's old school, that's what centers are supposed to do. He was taught that at Georgetown by John Thompson. Patrick Ewing and Dikembe Mutumbo also did that.
Not like Shaq, who just moves out of the way.

cuz thats how he gets all those blocks but i do have to admit he overdoes it
when a player contests too much he leaves his player open to make the easy basket or get the rebound plus of course theres always the posterizing

I've noticed that. It demeans him. But when the body gets old, the mind doesn't and has the same expectations.
