I am betting $10 with a kid in my school on the World Series. I'm betting on the Tigers in 6. He says the Tigers in 5. If the Tigers win in 5, then he gets $10. If it's Tigers in 6, then I get $10. If the Cardinals win, or if the Tigers win in 4 or 7, no one pays. Who do you think will win?

What team do you want to win?

The mets were SO close. If beltran had only saved us as he has sone so many times before, giving us a nice fat home run, it would have been the best win ever, i wouldn't even care if they won the world series. I cried myself to sleep. poor Willy randoph looked so diswraught at the press confrence, he looked like he had tears in his eyes, my heart went out to him, he knows that his guys wanted this title, and they deserved it more than anything. I still cna't belive they didn't make it and that we will have to wait all the way until april to see our guys again. I hate the fact that they will have to pull through another amazing year in 2007 to make it possible again. I know they can do it, but still, they were at home and everything. I think every body in the building that night was asking for a good old fashioned miracle, and when it didin't happen, i think we were all a little shell shocked for a while. I know i was.

P.S. keep your mouth shut if you have mean things to say.

Any thoughts?

The experts at ESPN and on Baseball Tonight picked the yankees to win the world series, The mets to beat everyone in the NL and the cards to miss the playoffs in the last week of the season. All the Cardinals did was win the division, Beat down San Diego badly in the first round, beat the Mets in the series that everyone thought would be over in 5 or 6 and beat the Mets at home in the rain by striking out Carlos Beltran with the bases loaded and 2 out in the 9th. Why are the so-called experts usually wrong. And when they make these predictions they are so sure of themselves and make these statements with such conviction. Sports experts and Weathermen are wrong so often but they are never held accountable for their grossly incorrect statements. What about the entire world picking Chicago bears to spank the Arizona Cardinals only to have tha cardinals blow a big lead and the kicker missing the winning field goal.

I think she skipped the words:

" Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming"

I think she went from twilight's last gleaming...to...and the rocket's red glare...

I saw this several years ago in SI or TSN; I can't remember, but it is not a trick question. Larussa is only the 5th MLB manager to receive a law degree; all 4 others are in the Hall of Fame.

I think I'm going to root for the home team in every game. Who will you be gunning for in the Series, since your team isn't there?

Come on Vertical, show your bitterness on how your team got jobbed, or that Detroit wasn't good enough to make the playoffs, or that you have the best offense ever, or some other absurd garbage you have typed over the past week.

Hey Vertical. Way too pimp that awesome offense. The Future HOF'r Jeff freakin Suppan shut them down!!!

Oliver Perez make Jeff Suppan look like Roger Clemens.

It's great to know that you were able to throw a pitcher out there that was 3-13 on the season with a 6+ ERA.

Your best hitter, Beltran, struck out on three pitches and didnt even bother lifting his bat off his shoulder on the third strike.

Did I mention Adam Wainwright is the Cards closer? Way to eat him up Beltran. Also, way to go on having two toy poodles. That really helped your karma.

Congrats to the Cards, it's just too bad that you don't have the pitching to make it interesting. As for Carpenter, he gave up 7 runs in 7 innings back on 6/23 against the Tigers.

Tigers in 4!
