The mets were SO close. If beltran had only saved us as he has sone so many times before, giving us a nice fat home run, it would have been the best win ever, i wouldn't even care if they won the world series. I cried myself to sleep. poor Willy randoph looked so diswraught at the press confrence, he looked like he had tears in his eyes, my heart went out to him, he knows that his guys wanted this title, and they deserved it more than anything. I still cna't belive they didn't make it and that we will have to wait all the way until april to see our guys again. I hate the fact that they will have to pull through another amazing year in 2007 to make it possible again. I know they can do it, but still, they were at home and everything. I think every body in the building that night was asking for a good old fashioned miracle, and when it didin't happen, i think we were all a little shell shocked for a while. I know i was.
P.S. keep your mouth shut if you have mean things to say.

Awww......I cried last night, too. For awhile, anyway. I cheered myself up with the thought of how those guys will be even more amazin' next season. Don't worry, I know that u know they will. Some players were acquired late in the reagular season so maybe they haven't got used to how the Mets play baseball but hey, that's exactly why there's Spring Training, right? Example, take Jose Reyes. Last season, who would've thought that he would be a superstar like he is this season? He blows everybody's mind away. All Mets fans were hopin' for a miracle last night but it didn't happen. Dry those tears up, girl. Flip the page and move on (with a head held high,a straight back and a smile on ur face :) ). Believe that the Mets would be killers next season. Ya Gotta Believe!!! :)

Last night didn't break my heart. I love the Cardinals and they just came through when they needed it. That's why the media and the fans need to just keep quiet and let the games play out before they open their mouths talking trash about how over the series was. Before game 7 everyone was crowning the Mets as NLCS champions because no one could ever stop the powerful offensive line-up. Well guess what, they did get stopped. I'm glad the game ended the way it did, now I don't have to hear excuses about how the Cardinals lucked their way into the World Series. They beat who they had to when it counted and even got over on one of the biggest Cardinal killers of all, Carlos Beltran. Just so you don't think that I am a total Cardinal homer I will say "great catch" at left field by Endy Chavez on the home run. Definitely one of the greatest catches that i've ever seen in post-season history. Hopefully now the Cardinals can shock the world again and beat a very good Tigers team and silence all the people who say they don't belong. One thing everyone forgets is that the Cardinals have been there for a while and the closer you get, sooner or later it's got to pay off. Good Series Mets fans.

What kills me is that players today don't seem to have a grasp of the fundamentals. With less than 2 out and a runner on 3rd base, you need to put the ball in play, not try to hit a 6 run HR. Also, as much as I like Beltran, 2 strikes, the bases loaded and you are the last chance, if it's close, you gotta swing the bat!
Killing me.

Sorry my heart will never break when somebody from NY loses, but they played a great game last night and a very good series. I would personally be proud to say I were a Mets fan if I was after the showing they had throughout the season.

It's not only Beltran's fault. It's also Willie Randolph (he told everyone to try for homers..which made them all strike out) and Billy Wagner (he blew game 2)..and also Floyd's fault..he shouldn't have struck out swinging either.

Also Willy Randolph should have put in Billy Wagner, and shouldn't have put in Cliff Floyd (he was injured) to pinch hit. It was 1st and 2nd with no outs, and he could have bunted to make it 2nd and 3rd with one out.
I was rooting for the Cardinals, but I wanted the A's to win it all. Now that they're out, I'm rooting for the Tigers.

I still can't believe it. I was sure that Beltran was going to get a hit and at least tie it.
