This is something I've noticed at pretty much every age level, up to and in college. It's always softball, and never baseball...from the very very beginning. What is up with that? Doesn't it violate title x or something?

In baseball, the preponderence of teams in post season play are the large market, large revenue teams. Only occasionally does a small market team make post season, and then generally only when their young players reach stardom early (i.e. before they can become free agents). Once the young super stars become free agents, they are bought up by the big-money teams. In effect the small market teams are the farm clubs for the big money teams.

This problem seems to have been solved in football, basketball, and hockey with salary caps and equitable revenue sharing amongst all teams. In those sports, it seems all the playing fields are level. Whoever can field the best team with the same resources wins. Every year it is interesting to see who is best.

Can this problem ever be solved in baseball without fair revenue sharing? Are the owners of the big market teams always going to block fair play? Will the golden rule always apply: He who has the gold rules.

I believe it was ESPN who reported that the early ancestors of Babe Ruth gave birth to a half black and half white child. Early family members (Great or Great Great Grandparents) had black slaves and servants and some where and at some time the white master had a baby with one of the black slaves or servants. It's pretty obvious if you look at photos of Babe Ruth that he does have black features like his lips and nose. A perfect example is a photo of the Babe and his early baseball teammates, in the Timeline section on the Babe Ruth Museum website. So I want to know whatever happened to this story? I'm a HUGE fan of the Babe and I would like to know more.

Sports fans are fiercely loyal. Much credit to those that stick with their teams through the bad times.

Consider this hypothetically...

But if you're a Royals fan, and the ownership isn't doing anything to put together a winning franchise, year after year, aren't they just exploiting the loyalty of their fans?

Is it then okay to cancel your season tickets and start going to Cardinal's games?

OR

If you're a Miami Hurricanes or Colorado Football fan, and you see that the school is doing nothing to stop criminals and thugs from coming to the school, is it okay to start wearing another school's colors?

This is a good question. Thoughtful answers only, please.
