I've heard from several different Gospel Doctrine teachers, and other local leaders, that you can ask God where you stand with Him and He will answer you.
While I know if you REALLY want to know, and ask with real intent believing He will answer you, then He will. But it seems sort of scary, like you think you're so on top of things that you can't think of any aspect of your life that needs work. It seems very prideful in a way, but then sometimes I catch glimpses of how wonderful it would be to KNOW exactly what it is that God thinks you need to work on.
Sometimes I get very down on myself when I think of all the things I SHOULD be working on, and then I think that maybe I should just ask God. But the mear thought of asking takes my breath away and I never do.
So have you ever sought to know where you stand with God, then asked Him? Did you find the process hard? Did it take you a while to work up to it? Did it take you a while to get to the point where you REALLY wanted 2 know?

Why do people like to quote john 3:16 when saying God loves the whole world?

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life

This must mean that whoever doesnt believe in him will perish, or what would be the point in sending his Son?

There are more texts that say only those who believe have everlasting life, and those that dont brelieve will not be saved.

The parable of the rich man and lazurus for example.. and the parable of the unprofitable servant.. the parable of the unforgiving servant. In the begining of John 3 Christ says a man must be born again to be saved....

IT is because of this that we are to "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever i have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Matthew 28:19-2

My girlfriend is a Christian and I'm not. I'm supposedly Catholic (but havnet practiced in years).

When we met almost 5-6 years ago, she wasn't practicing any religion and niether was I.

Well, we ended up taking a break from each other for awhile (I was in the military so I was gone). To make a long story short, she turned Christian.

So my question is, can we still be together without me being a Christian or will i have to convert to Christianity?

(P.S. Besides from all of that, we do love each other very much)

If I died and there was a god (yeah I'd think why he was so deceitful and only wanted stupid, ignorant people to believe in him) but once I'd got past that I'd think 'How dare you? Who the hell do you think you are to judge me?' I mean look how he behaves in the bible!

I don't feel such a vile ogre is fit to judge me. Does anyone feel the same. Feel free to tell me I'm gonna burn in hell, theists - I know you want to.

I know Christians in the Western world and muslims in the Mid-East probably can't relate so this question is directed more to those who are minorities in their society.

If so, then what right do we have to kill those who have committed murder after the fact? What gives us the right to kill something which God intentionally created in his own image? Would it be better to not kill them just in case it would be displeasing to Him?

Because they have to work at it, day and night.

Not only are the conditions of salvation necessary in their own internal nature, but it is easy to comply with them. Much easier than to reject them. Our powers of mind, are as well suited to accept, as to reject the Gospel. The motives to accept, are infinitely greater than to reject the offers of mercy. So weighty, indeed are the motives to comply with the conditions of the Gospel, that sinners often find it difficult to resist them, and they are under the necessity of making almost ceaseless efforts to maintain themselves in impenitence and unbelief.

Isn't it so good to see this hatered-spewing evil satan arrested? Just hope to god he gets a good few years inside.

Be even better if there are a few right-wing fanatics to give him a welcoming party when he gets there, wouldn't it?

the funerals of soldiers and scream gay epithets? Since these whackos marginalize the anti-gay rights movement, and in effect make all of the religious zealots opposed to gay marriage and homosexual rights look like the bigots they are, do they in fact help the Gay rights movement? How can I give them a campaign contribution if that's the case?
