All of the Churchs I am familiar with pay the pastors between 40K-70K not including all of the tax breaks, perks, and "love" offerings. If pastors were truly focused on the "Work of the Lord" they would live a modest lifestyle and give the money to additonal ministries or to the poor. The Church has become a religious business with the pastor as CEO

everytime there is news about muslims terrorist or muslim riots about the pope's remark or WHATEVER there is thats stirs their emotions and chaos happens, you hear other muslims saying that they are not real muslims, they are this and they are that.
Hello, they ARE Muslims! Your very own, making Islam more disliked by the world. You ARE your own worst enemy, like it or not. I say, jihad on yourselves.

Or Buddhist, or Hindu?

It seems the only reasons atheists are here is because they secretly want to believe in God right? At least that's what I hear from believers, so the reason you believers must be here is you secretly want NOT to believe in God, or to believe in a different God right?

1Peter 4:17 It is the appointed time for the judgment to begin with the house of God.

2Thess.2:1-12 However, brothers, respecting the presence/coming of our Lord Jesus and our *being gathered together to him,* we request of you not to be quickly shaken from your reason nor to be excited either through an inspired expression or through a verbal message or through a lettere as though from us, to the effect that *the day of YHWH/ Jehovah=Armageddon is here.

3) Let no one seduce you..because it will NOT come unless the apostasy comes first and the 'man of lawlessness' gets revealed, the son of destruction.

8) THEN, indeed the lawless one will be revealed, whom the LORD JESUS will do away with at the MANIFESTATION of his presence/coming.

Matthew 25:6 Right in the middle of the night there arose a CRY, 'HERE IS THE BRIDEGROOM! Be on your way out to meet him.'

Why would God reveal the day and the hour of the great tribulation, when he did not before?

My mom is very serious when it comes to not wanting a bible in her house. She also does not want to discuss religion at all. (she claims to be agnostic) She has cancer and it is very bad. I am scared that she will not open her heart to find Jesus before it is too late.
also, my dad has a heart problem and he and her fight constantly. it is hard to be around them. Every time I go to their house it is uncomfortable and tense to say the least.
My brother and i never got along- so we just dont talk at all.
Is it possible that they will one day find it in their hearts to love as God intended or am i better off avoiding all spiritual talks and keep all visits short and pointless.
Maybe it is me and they are right ?
Please help me to understand where i am supposed to go with this, and if i should avoid communication all together to keep the peace?

I am spinning from DuckPhup's commentary on "Religious" or "Christians"

He blatently states;
"Religious belief... particularly the Abrahamic death cults of desert monotheism (Judaism, Christianity, Islam)... simply cannot withstand the glaring light of reason and critical thought. It just evaporates. Poof. The fact that Christians assert and promote such ridiculous beliefs is a clear indication that they CAN'T (or WON'T) think properly."

I;m truly stunned at the ignorance. I am a christian, educated, and a "free thinker" meaning that I can come to my own belief system without being con'd (sp) by others. Where does this "death cult" mentality come from? It seems he is spouting the "party line" of many (not all) athiestic people that frequently cause an upraor on this site.
My beliefs CAN and DO stand up to the "glare" that he comments about. It also stands up to critical thought. I am always up for a "theological" debate. I enjoy them, when the other party is actually ....

computers essentially recognizes zeros(0) and ones(1) only, yet no atheist will believe that the 0s and 1s come together by themselves to become a piece of smart computer program without someone programming it,

yet they believe that DNA can magically come together by themselves to form intelligent beings like humans and other many many variations of living creatures, without divine intervention.

religion means belief. which religion is more hard to believe? the religion that believes in a divine God or a religion that does not believe.

Lets not talk about Christians or US.
Hindus talk about peace and in India there is peace, many great leaders have claimed so and it has been seen that social crimes and social disorders in Comparison to the population of India are very low. They are also Low in Comparable to many World Crime Studies, I know Muslims also exist in India But the Majority(85% are Hindus And there are no reports of any Hindu Fundamentalist groups or Hindu terrorist who attack on the Grounds of religion.)
Same is the case with the Buddhist people in China, they are peaceful.
Terrorism is not a new thing post 9/11. After the 1960s Indian have always been attacked by Muslim Fundamentalist groups like
Jaish e Mohmmad, Laskar E Toiba, Hizbul Mujaiidin, ISI agents to name a Few.(over 60000 peoplehave been killed by them till date)
Over 8000 Terrorist who have been aressted in India are Muslim who are from Pakistan (though Pakistan never Acknowledges this Fact)
So if Your Religion which you state is of Peace,Then how come so many terrorist who have been arrested and have Targeted Hindu temples
Are Muslim, and Why is it that whenever on tape they justify their acts on grounds of Islam ?
