Actually the best way?
Take a Bible study with them. Read the literature (the require brochure is very brief), the study will take about 8 weeks of about 1 hour a study. Then tell them you don't believe it is the truth.
They will then leave you alone.
When you think about it, isn't it nice that no other religion that claims to be Christian, follows the command of Jesus, and goes out preaching diligently every week to seek out those that are of Jesus other sheep?

if you don't want to be bother, just tell a witness to put you on the do not call list, they will be happy to do it for you. dog signs will not work. many of us have dogs. we can get you a bible in greek also. we are only doing what Jesus commanded us to do at Matthew 28 verses 19 and 20. you can also come to the door nude. many times I went to the door and men would be in there underwear. we have seen it all, it would not scare us. you would be the fool.

No need to be rude.
I always say "I appreciate your concern, but I am quite content with my beliefs. Have a lovely day."
Sometimes if the weather is hot, I offer them a glass of water, but they always decline.
Maybe it helps that I'm answering the door in hijab, though there was another Christian bunch - local I think - that wasn't bothered by the hijab and came back several times.

Jehovahs Witnesses are acting in obedience to Jesus' command found at Matt.28:19,20.
Jesus did a similiar work and taught his disciples to do the same.(Acts.5:42,20:20)
This preaching and witnessing work will be carried out until we are told by Jehovah to stop. Then Armageddon will be upon the earth and it will be too late to listen.
Do yourself a favor and listen to what the Bible has to say. They are the only religion that have a accurate and thorough understanding of the Holy Scirptures.

Do you think they are trying to tell you something?
2 Pet 2:5, calls Noah a preacher of righteousness (not a boat builder), and because he preached and did what Jehovah said, He condemned the world of his day. (Heb 11:7)
Amos 3:7 Jehovah warns prior to to doing.

Every true Christian goes from door to door to teach his neighbors about the Bible's good news. It is interesting that only Jehovah's Witnesses are so clearly identified with the preaching work; globally more than 6 million preach publicly each month.
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you.
(Acts 5:42) Every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus.
(Acts 20:20) I did not hold back ...from teaching you publicly and from house to house
It's sad when someone who claims to respect the bible actually insults or even advocates attacking a peaceful preacher. Sad but completely expected.
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching... You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.
Incidentally, the typical Jehovah's Witness knocks at hundreds of doors each year. He has already experienced degrading behavior from householders, some of whom: stand there naked, mimic Satanists, proposition lewd acts, brandish weapons, sic dogs, scream profanities, accuse crimes, and call Witnesses anti-American (inside the USA) or pro-American (outside the USA).
Fascists have called Witnesses "communists". Communists have called Witnesses "fascists".
Haven't you ever heard of 'hedging your bets'? Simple risk vs. reward analysis should make anyone very reluctant to abuse these ministers.
(Acts 5:38,39) I say to you, Do not meddle with these men, but let them alone; (because, if this scheme or this work is from men, it will be overthrown; but if it is from God, you will not be able to overthrow them;) otherwise, you may perhaps be found fighters actually against God.”
Jehovah's Witnesses are going to knock on your door unless you specifically and unequivocally tell them that you do not want them knocking, or if they fear for their own safety. Nothing else will really deter them, so you would be going to a lot of effort to accomplish nothing but pleasing Satan.
Really, if someone goes out of their way to disregard Christian preachers and preaching, what is he saying about himself?
(Luke 10:1-17) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos... “He that listens to you listens to me too. And he that disregards you disregards me too. Moreover, he that disregards me disregards also him that sent me forth.”

Just ask to be put on their Do Not Call list.
Note to TeeM;
Heb 11:7 calls Noah a boat builder, not a preacher. And Gen. chapter 6 says that God told Noah to build a boat, but doesn't say one teeny tiny thing about preaching.
And 1 Pet 2:5 doesn't say that Noah preached to anyone about surviving the flood, only that he spoke about righteousness. Maybe it was because Noah was the only one speaking up for righteousness, that Noah was the one chosen to build the ark.

They aren't allowed to read material from other religions or any type of alternate reality.
I gave a copy of 'Ishmael' by Daniel Quinn to both JWs and Mormon. I said that if they could discuss this book with me then we'd talk. I haven't seen either since.
The other solution is to not answer the door. It's your house, and you have the power not to answer the door if you don't want to. It's like not picking up the phone when you see it's a advertisement or telemarketer on caller ID. By not answering your saving everyone sometime.
My husband who is an ex-JW says tell them you are disfellowshipped (use this word - it mean ex-communicated). They are not allowed to talk to disfellowshipped people - yep, the old timey SHUN.

About ten years ago, my brother-in-law came up with the perfect solution. After being constantly bothered by Jehovah witnesses, he answered the door completely nude. They left in a hurry. Now, when he sees them in the neighborhood, they pass by his house and just point, but they never stop by.

Invite them in to discuss your favorite book, Mine is "Thus Spoke Zarathustra" By Frederich Nietzsche. I always keep it by the door and ask them if they have read it yet and understand it. Cause if not, they don't have a balanced view of both sides of their argument. Which would make them no expert and spokes person for nothing of value.
Would you buy anything from someone who didn't know or understand the competitions products?
