why do some men do this and run off?

2 years ago i visited south africa and met lots of black ladies who told me some stories about their men. the men fall in love with them, give them a kid and runs away never to be found again.

why is this so common among black south african men? do african american men do the same to women in america?

Nobody else wants to say it, but I will. Yes, this is extremely common in black American men. All men do it, but it is much more prominent in black communities. Why this is, I do not know. It may be because many of them can't afford to pay for their child, etc.

I really don't know why. And I'm sure I'll be thumbed down for this one, and/or sent hate mail, but this is the simple truth. If it wasn't, why do you think it's considered such a triumph when a black man calls himself a "single parent"?

I would think it's linked to social class: if you are poor, you are less likely to have contraception handy, and less able to raise a child. Therefore if a man makes a woman pregnant he is more likely to run than stay with a family he can't support. In South Africa, a large proportion of the black population is generally poor and at the bottom of the social ladder.

I don't have statistics, but I would be very wary of tying such behaviour to race rather than economics/social class.

It's common for men of all races to do that, mostly because those kind of men are not responsible and are cowards. I'm a black male and I was raised to believe that a man takes care of his responsibilites, that he holds himself accountable to the choices he makes. Most men, black and white are responsible but you're likely to hear more about the ones who aren't because it's a more interesting conversation.

Open your eyes it seems to be a game with a lot of men BLACK&white . Iknow of 1 guy who has 13 kids with 7 different women . Not 1 of the kids is over age 6!!!!!!! you tell me.

It is not African men only, I married a white man who had two kids with me and then ran off. I also know a girl who had 5 kids with a illegal and he ran off. It is not the color of the skin but the generation of irresponsible men!

if those men could to this in the first place then 2 things are very evident to me.
1. The guys did not love them in the first place as LOVE does not do this.
2. They don't know the Bible. The Bible says'for this reason only shall a man leave his father and mother and to HER ONLY shall he cleave'

these are actions which create many problems in all Cultures and Societies. many men of all races are able to father children but are unable to face the responsibilities of being a dad. these are serious responsibilities and one should never enter a relationship until such time as they are reasonably mature enough to handle these. it is the duty of any generation to train and prepare the next generation to take their place in the Culture and Society in which they live.
