I put a similar question on for Atheists about Christianity. Now it's your turn on the spot. I find it hard, and I imagine so do others, to respect a debater who doesn't know where the other side is coming from. If someone is to persuade, shouldn't you know what their objections are?

Please be objective here. I know that many of you would say that there are spiritual reasons for their lack of faith, but I want to see if you understand what THEY would say. I want to ultimately put this question to a vote and let the Atheist community vote for who they think got it closest to correct. Atheists, please don't chime in here--you have plenty of other opportunities for that. I want to put the believers on the spot here.

How easy was it to change the Word of God because the faithful could not read the original?

If your answer is YES, then you're greater than him, for you limit him. We should be worshiping you.
If your answer is NO, then I ask you, why is it not possible for Him to be known to the Hindus in the different forms in which they worship Him? Who are we to judge?

Creationists - Why did God make us? What was the need? Is it because animals don't fear him, and therefore can not worship?

Evolutionists - I have read that for every extinct Reptile there is a Mammalian counterpart to fill the gap. What gap do Humans fill? What/who was our Reptilian counterpart?

My aim is toshow that NIETHER side has all the answers.

What a wonderful man of God he is.
I really admire him for standing up and protecting marriage...right in the face of a nasty
liberal attack against him..he stands!

What do you think?

This is not a rant, not preaching...this is inquiry--curiosity.

In my time on this site, I am regularly surprised at the number of people, particularly the anti-religious folks, who attack religions, but make a lot of assumptions about what we all really believe. I can respect someone who doesn't agree with me, but only really if they know what they're talking about.

So...keeping it relatively basic, I'd like to see what the Atheist end of the community will come up with in describing the basic tenets of Christianity. I know that some of you out there have quite a good grasp of it all and am hoping that you come through. Please be objective. Please, also, use your own words--no cut and paste or websites.

To the Christian community out there, please refrain from answering this. I intend to put it to a vote later. I'm also interested to see what YOU think Christianity is too, but only during the voting...

Adam was formed as an adult & didn't come to life until God BREATHED IT into him? Are there any references to a fetus? Isn't there a story about two bears killing forty something children for poking fun at a bald prophet? (Btw, those were some slow children!) And aren't there tales of eating babies?
Doesn't seem like God cares a whole lot for children, much less fetuses.

so if you believe that Jesus is the son of God then .. we have Gods living with us. That would make a good movie

Here's an example:

http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/metro/20060825-9999-1n25cross.html

From the article:

On Aug. 14, President Bush signed a bill that transferred the ownership of the cross and war memorial site to the federal government, specifically the Department of Defense.

The bill halted a legal process that seemed destined to lead to the removal of the cross, which has stood on city-owned land for decades.

With the land now belonging to the federal government, the legal battle will shift to how courts interpret the federal – not state – constitutional ban on government support for religion.

Cross supporters contend they have a better chance of winning under the federal analysis. But opponents, including the ACLU, say that virtually nothing has changed with the transfer of land ownership.

we live with the choices we make in life. My question is if we have this option to live with our own choices, how do we know that on a daily basis we are doing the right thing? Such as driving your car, which is polluting the earth, buying fast food which is bad for you, going to lunch with a female co-worker if your married, etc....
