Adam was formed as an adult & didn't come to life until God BREATHED IT into him? Are there any references to a fetus? Isn't there a story about two bears killing forty something children for poking fun at a bald prophet? (Btw, those were some slow children!) And aren't there tales of eating babies?
Doesn't seem like God cares a whole lot for children, much less fetuses.

madnoelle, though some of your ideas are a little ''twisted'' on the facts, FYI, I am a born again Christian in the ''gray area'' on my stance on abortion....I absolutely am against it as a means of birth control as some women come in for multiple abortions, but do see incidences where, if the child has NO CHANCE, i.e. druggies for parents, amnioplasty-determined catastrophic abnormalities, and some other things, I do see it as a necessity....I don't think it should be made so convenient....I believe there should be some sort of screening process.

the spiritual condition of man is at the root of the abortion issue. Until man's spiritual condition is changed by the power of Jesus Christ, we will not find a full solution to this problem. It is sin that produces the problem of most unwanted pregnancies, as well as all the other disorders which plague the human race. It is also sin which produces the misbelief that women have a "right" to take the lives of unborn babies. The apostle Paul writes, "The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like" (Galatians 5:19-21a).

Life is sacred, and we must seek to protect all human life: the unborn, the child, the adult, and the aged. Several Bible passages tell of the sacredness of life and speak to the subject of abortion. They include Exodus 20:13, 21:22, 23:7; Job 10:8-12; Psalms 22:10, 51:5, 127:3, 139:13-16; Isaiah 44:1-2, 49:5; and Jeremiah 1:4-5. From a medical point of view, in the words of a physician, "The ultimate scientific fact that all must face and deal with is that nothing, no bits and pieces, will be added to this living human being from the time of fertilization until the old man dies—nothing except nutrition. Each of us existed in toto at that moment. All that we have done since then is to mature."

Since the Supreme Court removed restrictions on abortion in 1973 abortions have risen to an incredible figure of over 1.5 million each year in the United States. Mr. Graham strongly opposes "abortion on demand" and was instrumental in the founding of the ministry of Care Net, which is the largest evangelical network of crisis pregnancy centers. Care Net seeks to provide the most accessible and effective abortion alternatives possible. For a discussion on the alternatives to an unwanted pregnancy, you may contact Care Net at 1-800-395-HELP. For additional help and literature on abortion, contact the Christian Medical and Dental Associations, P. O. Box 7500, Bristol, Tennessee 37621; telephone: (423) 844-1000. A book which may be helpful to you is "Abortion: A Rational Look at an Emotional Issue" by R. C. Sproul. It is available at most Christian bookstores.

Adam also did not have a belly-button. Does that mean that christians beleive that people do not have belly-buttons?

Fetus is latin for baby. Maybe people either know their latin, or just start using another term. So, I do not want to abort a baby.

You can have an anti-abortion stance without being a Christian. Most christains acknowledge that a baby has a soul, placed there by God. To kill that baby is murder.

BTW....bears are fast and strong. Just because Disney makes them slow and dull doesn't make it true.

I agree with you. God appears to dislike children and women if you notice and favors old men in charge of the entire religious thing. The church describes God as an old man with white hair, ruddy complection and balding,(sounds like a drunk irishman).
All three of the major religions refer to children for god's pleasure and many children been punished, killed, tortured, or sent into slavery(black and white) as appeasement to god.
To answer your question abortion was used as a tool to rally the faithful, and give the church something to rant about. Likeis it really a sin to abort a fetus when the family already has 12 kids and they are starving to death. In places where the kids only hope is to beg,or cripple them so they can beg for life's bread. Al of this to keep the local preistin office.(ps. he's not hungry. he eats well and tells them to have hope.

god cares for people who listen to him. Usually in the bible people are destroyed for their actions against god, and children follow suit. If god decided just to kill babies or children without any precidented cause, then your argument would make sense

You never find a fetus refered to anything but a child in the Bible. Mosaic law stated that the miscarrage of a woman caused by violence was to be punished as murder.

Your message is just the latest example of the desperate lengths to which some people will go to justify the murder of unborn babies.

Other than stating that obvious fact, your message does not deserve a response. Nothing personal.

first of all you don't know what you are saying...it isn't correct...and secondly.....God is the giver and taker of life.....I have not read anywhere in the Bible that says He gave man the right to decide who lives and who dies and when they should die.....the only time God notes killing is in times of war....other than that no He is the giver and taker of life and death.....
