Why is it that whenever someon is this country does something that includes a black person , It has to be nationally brodcasted and frontpaged? Example Disney story today on yahoo. They have to announce that they have their first black princess movie coming out.

I would think that as many years as Disney has been around they would just shut their holes and release the movies instead of saying...' We have been pejudice for far too long. Here is a Black princess story! It is our first black person story'

I dont know if i even make sense. Im rambling but i am angry. I am angry that others think black people need to be thrown a bone for their confidence by stupid white people who feel like they are doing a service by including a black person in something.

You dont hear this story if it is an Alien Princess. I think that would be a little more far fetched. I just do not see the point in making a big deal out of another human being becoming something in life or make believe.

Recently at work I sent an e-mail out asking people to let me know if they would like to donate cash or purchase certain items to be sent to a 70 person troop in Iraq. Having recently transferred to a new area in a GIANT company I was not well known, and only about 12 people responded. About a month passed and it was time to collect the cash (for shipping the items) and the items. Of the 12 people who volunteered to donate and even verbally spoke to me about, only 5 actually went through with it. Despite a few e-mails and even some conversations with people during the week of colections, there were still, as I said, only 5 contributors. So tell me - what is it that possesses someone to openly state that they want to be a part of something (that was purely done in fun) and then not go through with it?

Please don't give me the "maybe they didn't have the items or the money" answer. I am looking for what they are thinking when they sign up for a volunteer thing - then run away.

These homes incorporate an area for school and children and plants and animals to care for. I read about this years ago and now can't remember . I think the name began with an "E" and was the first letter of the last name of the founder. Help!
