Growing up, all the Jims and Jimmies in my classes, extracirricular activities, sports teams, etc. were total assholes. Has anyone ever known someone with that name who wasn't a total prick?

I found out that brother is gay last year. Every since then he has pushed me and my family out of his life. Is this normal? I am the only one out of our family that stands behind him being gay. He still treats me terrible. Am I tring to hard to make me and my brother's relationship better?

We once did a seminar discussion over these topics in a University summer camp I went to, and it got very heated. It was interesting to listen to all the different opinions.

I worked in retail in a town heavily populated with Indian immigrants. MANY of them, not all, insisted on getting discounts, and often tried to trick me into thinking I'd offered them one. Is this part of their culture? It put me on the spot several times and made me uncomfortable. I was just an employee and had no authority to give discounts, but they often INSISTED.

We go to school for a major part of our lives, in an effort to increase our productivity. Then we get out into the real world make money and work like mad to buy what we want and then we have the added pressure to maintain it. Thus the cycle is a never ending cycle of servitude and security the servitude from the boss "aka" slave master and security from his resources which is money. The system is just revised slavery. You either work make
the money or starve and live on the streets.

I'm only 33, but I've been graying since I was 25. My hair is half gray, half black now. I color it back to my natural dark brown/black color, but I wonder if I should stop and just accept my natural color. Can women be attractive with graying hair?

I would like your views as to why some people who use either crude language or offensive suggestions on this site take pleasure in debasing themselves. They apparently are unaware that in doing so they demonstrate their weakness and not their strengths. Why do you think they are content to put themselves down in this way???

my husband could potentially get hired out there, in which case we would have to move. can you tell me what the areas are like, good or bad? what is the cost of living is like out there? what is there to do for fun? is it a good place to raise children? what's the weather like? what is your overall opinion of the town? i'm sure i could look at the official bakersfield website, but i would like an unbiased opinion, so if anyone could answer one, some or all of these questions, i'd greatly appreciate it.
