I'm not trying to be mean or full of myself. I'm a military wife with a law degree and I'm fluently trilingual, but due to my husband's job I seem to end up meeting mostly other military wives - and the ones I've met so far seem unbelievably dense and more concerned with "keeping up with the Joneses" and endlessly boring stories about poopy diapers that it seems impossible to find someone to have an intellectually stimulating conversation with! What's more is that I come from a good family with solid moral values, a good education and social background - and I feel like I'm surrounded by a bunch of white trash hicks! HELP!

Can not you just be polite and answer with dignity questions aimed to you?
How did u know Muslim women are ugly? You have not been around it seems.
How did u know women are stoned for being raped? U got NO idea what Islam all about. Even if u know, u would move a finger to say SORRY.

Why Americans are so self centered, orrugant with ignorance and got very little or NO brain cells? Reading most of their answers.
Where are the educated in America? Are they all dead?

When you provide someone with internet links, encyclopedia articles, and solid facts that support a certain political, social or philosophical statement, and the other person chooses instead to qualify your arguments as "left wing lies", "propaganda", or "biased", without actually refuting your claims or showing evidence to the contrary, are they being close-minded?
Consider that I usually back up my statements with reliable, neutral encyclopedias (like wikipedia), or from scientific websites or at least websites from different parts of the ideological spectrum.
Why are there still some people that choose to ignore facts?
What is it that causes people to methaphorically "cover their ears", and ignore solid facts and scientific data such as evolution, global warming, Disney child labour in Haiti, US support torwards dictatorships and terrorist groups such as the Nicaraguan "Contras", shady and corrupt bussiness associations in several countries' leaderships, etcetera?

People used to actually know what they were talking about because they were taught with literature that was universally accepted as educationally sound. NOW, people don't even know what books are. They form their opinions, and subsequently, their personalities, based on spoken opinions and commentary from others. Do you folks have that much faith in the masses?

Good god.

A question was asked earlier about Jesus's mission to the world. I've rephrased the question because I believe there is too much emphasis on him and the resulting sects and not enough attention given to the messages he imparted. One of them has to do with what I've asked. What is your mission to the world?

Why is it that there are so many people around the globe answering other peoples queries? I mean why waste time searching for questions to answer to fulfill your day? Strange.

In the past year I have lost my home (had to move out of apartment from family after a decade), lost my child (wouldn't move with me), lost my security (financial and safety wise), lost my job (have a lower paying one now), lost all friends, lost most possessions (had to leave them behind) , and just lost everything. I have tried to pick up the pieces but things are just not like they were. I have a new job but it doens't pay enough, still have no real friends, see my child a little but no progress has been made and I don't think it will as my child is almost grown, I miss my possessions and memories although I have replaced most of my stuff, I just don't seem to be able to get things to where I want them and I have been trying for about a year.

I live in Germany, and I'm American. I'm sure I have alot more contact with French than most people in the states and I find them to generaly be freindly, helpfull, respectfull, ect... My wifes best freind's boyfreind, french, traveled from france to germany on his Vacation to help me out with my new bar, and I barely even knew the guy, he worked for free, and insisted on paying for all his drinks!
I spent my honey moon in france and everywhere i went they treated me like a king, I met several nice people in various bars and clubs.
The french people were against the War in Iraq and thegovernment Obeyed their wishes to stay out, isn't that the basis of Democracy? Some peple say that makes them chickens, I say anybody that sucks up to the US and does whatever we want is a chicken.
They helped us in the Rev. War.
French cusine is awsome, ever tried it?
Now I'm not going to say they are perfect, but why should we hate them? Don't we have enough enemies already?

I am rather perplexed as to why this question was deleted. It is not racist. Those who report it ARE. Those who delete it ARE.

Think about it, folks. Often times a question is simply an inquiry about a FACTUAL topic. Don't believe me? Research it.

Just because it mentions race it does not make it a "racist" comment in any negative sense of the word.
