I want to send a letter I wrote to my 90 year old great aunt in Germany. I had a friend that used to translate them for me, but unfortunately she is out of the country, and will be for awhile. She's a very meticulous woman, so I'll definately hear about it if the grammer is improper. It would be amazing if someone could direct me in the right spot. She lives alone, and I know most of my family doesn't write to her, so I thought it would be nice to brighten up her day. So basically, any sites out there that provide GOOD, FREE translations?

Im going to Japan soon. All I know is how to say hello. I have always been facinated with this language. I want to learn the language as fast as I can and still remember alot of the language. What is the best thing to do to learn languages fast?
EX. Computer programs, books, videos, etc.

I'm going next summer, so only a year to learn it. Will I be able to from just a book and the cd that comes with it or do I need to take a few courses? I mean, I don't expect to speak it perfectly but I do want to know enough to get around.

In the movies/americans seem to say GRA-ZEE and in some of the Italian I listen to, it seems like they say GRAT-ZE-EH....what is the right way? And why do Americans say it that way?

I think there's a difference in French and English- there's an area close to where I live that's pronounced differently than what I believe the French pronounciation is. Anyone know for sure, and not just a calculated guess?
