Valentine's day is like any other day, except some people say it's important. It's not like an anniversary or anything so what's the deal? Another holiday like Christmas?

gave her Jade Goody perfume as her present (it was on sale a couple of weeks ago.) To be creative, and save environment, I made her a card from cereal box. Now she's gone off in a strop. Why is she so ungrateful?

Here is my suggestion, if you are intellegent, good-looking, with a charming personality give her a call today!!!!
Do not hesitate!!!! you might loose out on a fabulous time!!!

My brother brought Bob The Builder valentines and chocolate mints to everyone in his class, and he says they made fun of him... Okay, I'm 26 years old, so I'm not that ancient, I mean what 5-grader would not love to get a candy and card? So yeah, they teased him and called him a "Bob The Builder Freak". << HOW MEAN, CHILDREN THESE DAYS! So, during lunch all the children sat with their boyfriends and girlfriends while my poor brother sat alone in a table. Oh and no one brought valentines in his class, which meant he didn't get any because his only friends were at a field trip. He says some boys got candy delivered to their classes, and he didn't get any thing delivered to him. I feel so miserable writing this for him... I don't even know why I'm telling you this, but I just want him to feel better! He thinks today, has scarred his life emotinally for the rest of his life, lol.

I've bought him a bag of Cheetos (his favorite snack evah) but what else could I do to make his day? =D

As opposed to being in a relationship because they actually LOVE the person?
Another way to put it is, is it because they are in love with the person or in love with the attention they get from him/her?

Hi All-
I have a question. I have been dating someone for about 7 weeks. All seemed as if it were going well, only he NEVER mentioned valentine's day. There is a catch. my birthday is Friday, and while it has been mentioned, he hasn't made any plans/asked me out/reserved time to celebrate. My feeling is that as the relationship is so new, v-day would have been the perfect expression of his true interest in me. As he never mentioned it BUT sent a "be my valentine" text to me at 1am this morning, he really has no interest. By the way, I didn't respond to it. I went on and made plans yesterday seeing as I hadn't heard from him about today. But I am dissapointed. My feeling is that V-day is pretty much a girl's holiday and most guys know it. If he were REALLY interested he would have stepped up (I read He's Just Not that In To You-LOL). Am I right? Being a big baby about it all, or do you think he is just overwhelmed by V-day and my B-day on Friday? Thanks!

I think it is too commercial.we have 365 days in the year to tell someone we love that we love them.why do we need to put a day aside to say it??i have seen loads of valentines day advertisements.i think they are a bit mad."tell your partner you love them this valentines day with this diamond ring".i mean why would you have to give her a diamond ring to say you love her.does anyone else think its all just very silly.

I asked my partner not to get me anything for Valentines Day and everyone at his work flipped! We've been together for nearly 6 years and I've just never needed him to buy me something so i know he cares about me.
The way I see it is if he has to buy me something for me to know this then there's something wrong in our relationship. My present to him was a dinner and some quality time spent together, that I think is more important or am I just being totally wrong?

I hear about women wanting to scratch their b/f/husbands eyes out if they don't spend at least a couple of hundred on them, this to me is just superficial.

Am I wrong?
