Me personally, I'm a little dissapointed, but also happy to be single. It's probably not a better holiday either way you go. If you're single, you wish you weren't and if you're with someone then you have tons of pressure because of the day.

A bit of both
For about half of people...most likely it a bit depressing and overly routine.
This obviously applies if you don't have a b/f or g/f.
Also if you have a b/f or g/f and end up fighting over what to do/spend, spend tons of time and effort planning for it, etc. (often more pain than it's worth) It's supposed to be about love, yes, but often is more about obligation. :-(
Although there are so many Valentine's singles events it's actually a great holiday to get out and find someone (for those who are very extroverted and look good enough to get away with that kinda thing).
I'm lucky enough to have a girlfriend who will do things like camping and cooking a romantic dinner & composing music by candlelight together instead of shelling out on unsurprising/unoriginal things like movies, flowers, or restaurants.
So, mine's been great but I know how it feels to be on the other side of it.

I've never been a fan of this holiday, and this year is following the pattern. I try to make it special but it just doesn't work. For example in a few hours I will cook dinner for myself and watch a movie while my Valentine hangs out with his friends. Goes to show some people really don't care about valentine's day at all....
Hope everyone is having a great day!

My day has been great. I am raising 2 grandchildren and both are feeling ill today. I have cleaned up toddler vomit and scrubbed the floor. I have done the laundry and cleaned the kitchen. I am about to start dinner and I really am having a good day.
My hubby has called twice to tell me he loves me and he sent me an e-card.
I am a happy fulfilled woman and hope you are happy too.
Happy Valentines Day to you.

I see it as a lovely day,,,
I'm the happiest and luckiest wife on Earth I was sitting here in my office and my hubby walked in with a full bouquet of flowers and balloons and all the way in the bottom had to put my hand all the way in was a little red box said I Love You and I'm yours forever... Open me was a beautiful ring with a little necklace half a heart with a key and he said to me you have the key to my heart so never open and let go of it I busted in tears so today is a lovely day for me!

Today is just another day and no different.
The stores and florists might not feel like it's just another day, but that's because people like to make something out of nothing.
Personally, everyday is a holiday for me and I look forward to most days, I don't need a holiday or occassion to enjoy my life.
Have a great day!

Depressing. I am single and I don't care if I am taken or not anymore, right now. *Sigh* I just want tomorrow to come...
