The basic amount is 2 dozen. But you could be creative and give her one flower for every year you've been together. That might mean more to her.

It's a little late now, but you can usually find a place that sells roses for 10 bucks a dozen...the same place on Vday sells the same flowers for 30-60$...anyway....use the money on another day and get like....6 dozen. Send them to her work, tell her you bought every rose in the store to make up for not getting flowers on Vday.

I personally never cared for the single rose thing. I think going with the dozen is much classier. It doesn't hurt to add some jewelry and a cute stuffed animal with it. I am not one of those lucky people who actually gets anything on this day because my hubby is clueless about how much women actually want to celebrate this Hallmark inspired holiday....Good luck whatever you decide.

A dozen would be good. But if you don't have much money, a single flower, like a rose, might be best.

none, they die. what is the point of giving someone you "love" roses to symbolize your love when they die 3-4 days later. what does that really mean?
that is what i wonder when anyone gets me flowers on "special" occasions.
Save the money and make her dinner or something, atleast then you are showing that you care enough to take the time to make something special that you can both share.

Give her 10 white roses and 2 red roses.
The white roses represent purity and the red love.
When you give them to her explain that the roses in combination represent the "pure love" the the two of you share.

You could go with the standard dozen or you could go with a single red rose. A single red rose means I Love You.

Either a single rose or more than 12. Anything inbetween is a convenience store present.
