Valentine's day is like any other day, except some people say it's important. It's not like an anniversary or anything so what's the deal? Another holiday like Christmas?

It is a day like any other. I love my hubby as much as I did yesterday but not as much as I will tomorrow. It is what you make of it and nothing else.

Christmas is an important holiday to many, with true religious significance. BUT you're right...merchants capitalize on ANY and I mean ANY opportunity they have to make money! Think about it...Sweetest Day? It's just a second Valentine's Day! A day to sell more chocolate and candy and flowers. I don't think its to make single people feel lonely. I think sometimes single people just let it get to them!

haha! i think it might have something to do with it... valentines day is about love in general. you don't have to be with someone to enjoy it. if you don't feel comfortable with it you don't have to celebrate it. it's not harming anyone to have a little fun holiday slipped in there every once in a while! and people like to get things for valentines day because it makes them feel important and thought of. i hope you have a wonderful valentines day!

No, because Christmas IS a special day. People just over-do it. I think Valentine's Day is a little over-rated because when you love someone you show it every day.

Maybe we should have a "Singles" Day where all us married/with someone people have to give all the singles teddy bears, candy, and flowers. :)

*said with humor and a smile--I hope its receive that way*
