He just asked me out today, but we have known each other for 6 years. He plays guitar but I don't want to get him something for that. I don't know, but nothing generic. Well, it could be like chocolate but it has to be given in a weird way. Like a weird package. Argh.

Guys, what would you want your girlfriend for a month to get you for Valentines day. And don't say sex. No.

I need some ideas of something I can get ready for my husband ahead of time for a Valentines gift. Nothing too elaborate or too expensive. Thanks for your ideas!

We have been together for 5mts on the 25 of January. I am 17 and he is 15 about to turn 16. He races cars and loves country stuff. Loves anything with racecars and chocolate. That is really all I can think of.

on sunday my boyfriend told me that now he has been promoted we have been invited to a posh valentines ball on feb 14th.

he said its a really posh event so i would have to get an evening gown to wear and have my hair and make-up done professionally and we would have to stay in a hotel over night as its in a town just over 100 miles away from where we live.

as you can guess i was really excited about this ive always wanted a posh dress and somewhere nice to wear it to since i was ill the week of the school prom.

then he said "but since its 6 days before my bonus comes thru we cant afford to go as even if we hire out our outfits we cant afford to stay over night anywhere."

i was really disapointed by this. we never do anything romantic on valentines day.

why did he tell me this event was happening?
what should i do?
i dont think he understands why im upset.

In comparison with guys posting about "what do I get my gf/wife", women asking about their bf/husband are far outnumbering the guys here. Do you notice how women make things so much more difficult than they need to be?

I'm just wondering about this preoccupation and need for "advice".

My husband and I do not celebrate Valentines Day. To us it is a forced holiday that has no real meaning. We are kind and loving to one another 365 days a year and share special gifts when we want rather than on 14 Feb.

What about you?

We have been dating for about a year now and it is going pretty darn good. I got her some real nice earrings for X-Mas so it doesn't necessarily have to be Jewelery.

FYI - - She is 24 years old.

I was thinking about getting her a signed picture of Dave Matthews because she likes DMB (I dont but thats besides the point).

Any good ideas???

I want to knock her socks off!!

Thanks for the help!!

I want something special to do for my husband this year. We usually go out to dinner and a movie but I want something this year that will stand out. He is always doing things for me and he deserves this.

Is it to gurley to buy a man flowers or ballons? This is a question that I struggle with also. I would like to hear what others think.

I need to think of something super sexy to do for Valentines. My boyfriend and I have been together for about a year and a half. We have lived together for about 5 months. We are kinda in a "comfortable stage" (that's the only way I can think to put it) Anyway, so I wanted to do something great for V-day! Can you please give me some ideas!?

It can't be anything sexual but I want it to be nice... just something little I guess. Any ideas?

We have been married 19 years. I have no idea what she wants or likes, and don't want to spend much money. I also don't want to make anything or write anything, or get her anything that will make her fat. I want her to like it enouig that I get some sex that nioght, but not so much that she starts expecting really good presents from me. Any ideas?

I've read through a lot of the V-Day question's on here. A lot of you are "normal" and are looking for "normal" gifts. I've gone on Google and searched for "Personality quizzes that will help find the perfect gift", etc. No luck, or I've given up too quickly. If you have a site pertaining to my searches, that would help.

Now, down to the details:
He's a raver; a rivet-heart at heart. He's open-minded, but above all, he loves his jungle, drum and bass, etc. He spins poi: fire and/or glowsticks. He works in a granite shop, works hard, and absolutely loves it. He calls it "granite creations". He words hard; he parties hard. He absolutely adores me.

So... I'm practically broke. I have no job, but I do get soem earnings. (about $30 a week)...Not much, but...I'm 16.Maybe I can even approach him with an idea that we can both put up on.
Other than those details, just to inform you, the "romantic dinner/ movie" won't cut it for me. Having "me" for his gift... well when does he not?

I can be romantic, but I have long hated the pressure of Valentine's Day. Gotta buy cards, flowers, candy, etc., not out of individual choice but a sense of obligation and "herd mentality" as everyone is doing it. Anyone else?
