Prepare a candle lit dinner for 2 on a balcony (if it is a nice day, if not, just do it in a dining room)
with roses as a center piece
make sure it is just 1 (meaning she is the only one)
and make the stem a little shorter so you can see her and she can see you
Then, just give her a nice necklace after you are both done eating.

having bought the necklace ahead of time.
It doesn't need to be fancy, it sure would be nice if it were though.

A necklace that is pearl or sterling silver will be good
Gold is a little tacky.
make sure you have a little bit of diamonds on it if it is silver.
The necklace will cost about 200 to 500
The dinner will cost 40 to 50
but the moment you 2 will have together ,,, now that is priceless

My husband did this for me on our first Valentine's Day.

He sent me flowers at work..the card told me to go have lunch at a specific place for lunch..and the waitress handed me a note that told me to stop at a store to buy gas. The gas attendant gave me a note that told me to..I am sure you get the idea. With every note I received I also was given a Hersey Kiss and a Rose. When I finally got home there was a note on the bed with a single rose that told me to meet him at a restaurant for dinner. I arrived he was holding a single rose. He told me this rose would complete my dozen the way I complete him..this was the sweetest thing!

Can't go wrong with flowers. Get some delivered to her work, prepare a nice candlelite dinner for the two of you. Generic sounding, but it works.

i agree - making dinner is always cute. even cuter if you can't really cook. big over the top flowers are always classic. It's always a huge plus when myboyfriend actually takes thetime to write me something really nice in a card.
