I prefer saying Merry Christmas and just HATE it when people say Happy Holdiday!

The reason is just so stupid, too. Just because not everybody is religious, it does not mean that we have to cover up the fact that WE are!

Do you guys prefer Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays?

Okay. I talked to my mom and she said they will celebrate my birthday 12 days after my birthday when they get home from vacation. The thing is, they are already celebrating my nephews confirmation on that day so she said she is going to get a cake with a cross on one side and birthday on the other side. The thing is I feel that its kinda fake to do that because it really isn't my day...its my nephews day.

My friend is trying to convince me that Easter was a rip-off of Passover. I'm Jewish and I don't see how Easter has anything to do with Passover whatsoever.
Any insight anyone?

I hope I am not being insensitive, but I simply do not understand why people of different beleifs are all of a sudden getting offended when someone tells them Merry Christmas. This is how it has been for hundreds of years.

Do you really think we are being hostile? We are simply telling you that we wish you a good Christmas. If you do not celebrate Chirstmas this can easily be transferred to your holiday. Why do we have to change to the generic impersonal Happy Holidays instead?

At church this morning, the sermon was about preparing for Christmas. It got me to thinking about how commercial everything really is. Stores start decorating for Christmas now before Halloween!! For some, Christmas can't begin until it gets cold or snows. For some it doesn't begin until they buy that first present. What puts you in the holiday spirit?
