Yes! This is the first year that this Empty-Nesting Single Retiree will NOT be FORCED to put up with the Nasty, Rude, Hormonally Driven and awful "friends" of her Young Adult Children (nor have to be forced to pay for them to come with to the activities I've planned) ...

And ...

This Year ... it will just be my Special Someone (also an Empty-Nester, and whom I started dating this year) ... who will be going with me to the Military Base (yes, I AM The Military Retiree!) so that we can enjoy the New Year's Eve Activities there in safety and comfort (they have a fun Bowling Party that night -- Black Lights, LaserStorm, just FUN!).

Then ... after the party finishes, we will go back to MY Home and just relax and enjoy life and sleep in -- no pressure, nothing that drives us to get up and deal with others (who are not appreciative of us), just be together and in PEACE .....

This will be the BEST Start to the NEW YEAR that any of us have had in so very, very many years!

This is going to be the best one I've had in a while. Last year I spent it with people I didn't like (my boyfriends friend and his disgusting girlfriend) and the year before I had to work. My BF and I are long distance (I go to school 5 hours from him) so I wont see him from Thanksgiving to a couple days after Christmas. We'll probably go out, come home and watch the ball drop, and do couple things ;), lol. We'll be near Charlotte so maybe go out to a bar or something. But yes, I am already thinking about it and can't wait!
