Every year I make an at home haunted house. This year however I'm finding it difficult to come up with something new to add. Remember this is at home so money is a problem. I can't wait to see all your answers!

I am curious, and would like some feedback about an idea I have for Halloween treats this year. I would like to make some playdough and give it out in small clear containers to the trick or treaters. I am the type of person who would still love to be able to give out candied apples and such, but for obvious reasons won't. I have tried to place my mind in todays parents, and think of all the reasons they may not want their kids to play with the homemade playdough .... but can not come up with anything. Do you think this is a good idea, and is there something this Grandma is missing about the fear out there concerning Halloween treats? thanks in advance!
footnote: I live in a very small town, so the big city stigma is not there, but I just moved here several years ago and am not well known.

My family is spiritual, but doesn't follow any particular dogma. I'm looking for different holidays to celebrate throughout the year. We've already settled on Chinese New Year and New Year's Eve. We plan on celebrating Christmas Day, but not as the materialistic travesty it has become, more of a celebration of our family unit. Thanksgiving day as a celebration of able to have food on the table, and not the usual Pilgrim Story (I'm Native American, and don't believe the story for one minute.) It not only depends on religious beliefs, but also what the holiday stands for. Any suggestions? Serious answers only, please.

I was watching television earlier today and it happened to be about The Day of the Dead. I went online to see if they celebrated in Puerto Rico and one site said it is celebrated all throughout Latin America but another site didn't even have it listed as a holiday in Puerto Rico. I want to know if they celebrate the holiday in Puerto Rico or do they have any holidays similar to it. If they do celebrate it, do they make calaveras or anything like that. Another question, are tortillas eaten in Puerto Rico. I know tortillas can be made from maiz and I think they grow that in Puerto Rico and I also know that it was the indians who make tortillas and Puerto Rico have the tainos. Are there any types of tortillas made in Puerto Rico. Puerto Ricans, please answer (but anyone can answer if they have an answer).

Ok...since my b-day is pretty close to Halloween, I usually have a halloween/b-day party. I want to get other teens opinions on halloween parties. Would you rather have a sleepover and watch a scary movie? Or would you rather dress up in costumes and just walk around the neighborhood? Tell me what you would like to do at a halloween party1

It's my favorite time of year but I am out of original ideas. Went one year as a person who stuck their finger in a light socket, once a speed bump, a 'partying' Mickey Mouse...any new ideas would be great...thanks

We are out of Halloween ideas! We have been Disney princesses before. There are six girls: one with red hair, one with brown curly hair, one with blonde hair, one with brown hair, and two people with short hair blondish brownish hair.

The last time I went with my friend I was 14 and people seemed to think we were way too old, but I've read about people older than that going trick-or-treating in books.
(It was funny, really, the last time I went. I was wearing my pagaent dress as a princess and my friend was a vampire with an afro, basically. We were both wearing masks and these people thought my friend was a guy. They asked us if it was our first date. She took her mask off after that.)
So whatcha think? How old is TOO old?
(And please don't be a smart allek)
:-)

hi all... well I'm pagan, just had to put that out there, so no negative responses please. I have a 9 month old and am debating whether to take her trick-or-treating(of course the candy would be for me, she only gets breastmilk, but I do think it'd be cute to parade her around in a costume) or not considering when she starts solids candy will not be a part of her diet. Also, I wanted to do something for Samhain(btw, if you know of anything going on in the antelope valley region plz mention it). Thing is, I live w/ my mom right now who is mormon & VERY anti-pagan, so I'll have to field that. Any tips on how to? any ideas on how to raise a pagan baby in a mormon house, too? and how the heck do I sheild her from or @ least explain the ignorance of the mainstream 'image witch'? Is she too little to go to most samhain rituals yet or what can we do together to celebrate? Thx 4 the input
