My family is spiritual, but doesn't follow any particular dogma. I'm looking for different holidays to celebrate throughout the year. We've already settled on Chinese New Year and New Year's Eve. We plan on celebrating Christmas Day, but not as the materialistic travesty it has become, more of a celebration of our family unit. Thanksgiving day as a celebration of able to have food on the table, and not the usual Pilgrim Story (I'm Native American, and don't believe the story for one minute.) It not only depends on religious beliefs, but also what the holiday stands for. Any suggestions? Serious answers only, please.

properly, we don't. Christmas wasn't initially a christian holiday besides. It replaced right into a social gathering of the changing seasons. or maybe then it replaced into religious. human beings have that tendency. although, we have fun Christmas as a time of kinfolk. i individually have fun it simply by fact the initiating of wintry climate and component to my birthday. We provide presents and such in view it is custom. And we've dinner and positioned up decorations, back simply by fact of custom. And the tree and caroling and present giving and such replaced into actual pagan in foundation besides. yet we don't positioned up decorations that are christian or provide enjoying cards and such with christian matters. and of course.. the hot 12 months is the hot 12 months and demands imbibing of deliscious alcoholic beverages and relaxing with pals.

If you aren't planning to recognize and respect the holidays as do those to whom they mean something, why bother using them as your celebration dates?(rhetorical question). Why not just choose a day each month to celebrate your own family and traditions? Make up your own like Festivus (Seinfeld's made up celebration).
