We all have room for improvement. There is often something we hang onto that keeps us from moving forward. For example, for most of my life I've had an independent streak and I will do things my way. Sometimes I realize there is a better way to do the same thing, but I just want to do it my way. That's stubbornness, to a degree. Yet I realize if I were to let go of that stubborn streak, whatever I'm dealing with will get done better, probably faster, and I'd end up being a better person simply by recognizing maybe my way isn't best. I'd be a better person if I let that independent streak die away. I'm working on it.

What about you? In what areas could you be better, and what's holding you back? What are you holding on to?

I have felt that anger is really a non-productive emotion. No one can make you angry if you don't let the anger in. I realize that anger needs to be dealt with, and how we deal with anger affects our health.

Yesterday hubby made this comment: There is enough calcium in anger to give you a backbone.

In my continuing effort to improve myself, I started journaling to sort out my thoughts. I don't write in it every day, but it's there when I need it. I also started a little book in which I write life lessons, inspirational quotes, etc. I just have to remember to look at it every day. Do you do anything like this?

We live in a little apartment with Big Foot and his mama above us. When they're awake, there's no peace and quiet. Yet we're not in a position to move, and when we do it will be to a house, not another apartment or townhouse or condo. Most of my personal stuff is in storage because there is just no room for anything else here. Some days I look around and wish I could do something to change it all. It's more like a bachelor pad, which of course, it was until I came along 2 years ago. I would dearly love to make changes, but I'm limited in what I can do. Any ideas for simple changes?

And finally.....

A recent scientific study found that women find different male faces attractive depending on where they are in their menstrual cycle.
For example, when a woman is ovulating she will prefer a man with rugged, masculine features.
However when she is menstruating, she prefers a man doused in petrol and set on fire, with scissors stuck in his eye and a cricket stump shoved up his backside

I quite dislike all gays. At first I thought I was just being true to myself after so many bad incidents of childhood abuse and other things at the hands of particular gay persons.
But now I find that I have to really catch myself from saying terrible hateful things or acting biased or mean to gay people in school or at work.

I don't want to be a bigoted person. I don't want to be like this!!! I don't want to spread hate and evil, especially not to my children.
but I feel so disgusted and uncomfortable around gay people, looking at them on televison or even seeing pictures of someone who is openly gay (like celebs or something)

Just before the funeral services, the undertaker came up to the very elderly widow and asked,
"How old was your husband?" "98," she replied.
"Two years older than me"
"So you're 96," the undertaker commented.
She responded, "Hardly worth going home, is it? (bada boom)

Reporters interviewing a 104-year-old woman:
"And what do you think is the best thing
about being 104?" the reporter asked.
She simply replied, "No peer pressure." (bada boom)
