Each generation thinks it has all the answers. Rarely do they look back to see what worked, what didn't, and what lessons should have been learned. They'd rather repeat it all and learn from their own mistakes. What progress we could make if the lessons learned from the past would stick.

The problems are pretty much the same, but we don't have the huge protests, sit ins, and the National Guard shooting college students. They seem to be shooting each other. The hippies are gone, I think some are on here answering questions! The cities are being burned in riots, but they are burning in California every couple of years. Now I'm getting depressed. I lived though all of that and remember it well. Maybe we need a few good protests to get us out of this war. It worked for Viet Nam.

I love Creedence Clearwater.
Listen to their music - "Fortunate One", "It Came out of the Sky" and others.
It is as contemporary today as it was then....
We never, ever learn, do we. We forget what happens to a society when we turn our future and our lives over to a government and let them make all the decisions.
How sad that, having been active in the 60's, I once again have to hit the streets to demand the same things we were demanding then....
We never learn.

I disagree,it is all different because todays youth hasn't the same commitment, the surety that we had.We were positive we could change it all and in a way we did.I know I haven't given up or became a different person, older, maybe a little wiser but still an optomist, still a believer that one person can make a difference.

The words of Bob Dylan are as relevant today as they were many years ago. Isn't it a sad thing when history repeats so soon. When will they ever learn?

For whatever reason, human nature I guess. Each generation thinks that there time is the first time. Most don't want to hear about the way it was, nor learn from anyone else's mistakes.

Other than for technology, you can go to any decade/era and find the same thing. Humanity just isn't bright enough to learn.

Even though the song "history repeated" and know the consequences, younger people will still think that they know better, Unfortunately, human nature does not change
