What, psychologically, is at the core of a crippling inability to make decisions?

i'm not talking about a "positive experience" like having the most wonderful & caring friend in the whole world taken from you by God (in which case you know s/he didn't leave you intentionally). i'm talking about something that leaves you just terribly sad inside. like when someone you've trusted with everything leaves you...(I'm talking mostly about romantic relationships.)

thanx

My name is Sarah.....
I am but three,
My eyes are swollen
I cannot see,
I must be stupid
I must be bad,
What else could have made
My daddy so mad?
I wish I were better
I wish I weren't ugly,
Then maybe my mommy
Would still want to hug me.
I can't speak at all
I can't do a wrong
Or else I'm locked up
All the day long.
When I awake I'm all alone
The house is dark
My folks aren't home
When my mommy does come
I'll try and be nice,
So maybe I'll get just
One whipping tonight.
Don't make a sound!
I just heard a car
My daddy is back
From Charlie's Bar.
I hear him curse
My name he calls
I press myself
Against the wall
I try and hide
From his evil eyes
I'm so afraid now
I'm starting to cry
He finds me weeping
He shouts ugly words,
He says its my fault
That he suffers at work.
He slaps me and hits me
And yells at me more,
I finally get free
And I run for the door.
He's already locked it
And I start to bawl,
He takes me and throws me
Against the hard wall.
I fall to the floor
With my bones nearly broken,
And my daddy continues
With more bad words spoken.
"I'm sorry!", I scream
But its now much too late
His face has been twisted
Into unimaginable hate
The hurt and the pain
Again and again
Oh please God, have mercy!
Oh please let it end!
And he finally stops
And heads for the door,
While I lay there motionless
Sprawled on the floor

My name is Sarah
And I am but three,
Tonight my daddy
Murdered me.

Do you think that's not being thoughtful if you give a gift card for someone's birthday instead of picking out an actual gift?

'cause the point is to achieve what you've always wanted but suppose it just can't be done; how do you deal with it and live with it

Don't ever ask for help so this is a way to circumvent that problem-
How does one stop causing chaos is ones life.
Background - 45yr white male living in the midwest, 9 kids in family, middle child, never knew father, very very little connection with mother, abusive step father.
Divorced - worked three jobs, wife fell in love with someone else, divorced her. both to blame - I know
Problem: Relationship, will stay away from anyone getting close to me ea: friends, family, girls lol
Jobs: Never lost a job, but caused myself promotions by disagree with the ones trying to promote me.
Finances: Make 70,000 but always in trouble financially, not bad enough not being able to get out of it in 2 months time.
Timing: will always wait to the last minute to leave, just to see if I can still get there on time. It just seems that everytime things are going great, I have to screw up some part of my live, to have to start over.
Any help for me, classic case I even took this down to the last le

I'm doing a causal argument paper on the possiblility and reasons that adults abused as children may become abuseive towards their own children later on, whether from alcoholism, emotional problems, or anger problems related to their childhood abuse. Can anyone help me find some web sources? I'm a little puzzled on where to look.

Thoughts control every aspect of a person's life. Actions are created by thoughts, which for the beginning of one's life are largely influenced and guided by other people. Over time habitual thoughts and actions take shape and eventually take over. When the truth announces that "You have some not so good patterns of thinking and acting". And finally you realized that they've kept you from really growing and being successful. Where the "@#!%$" do you go or what do you do to change. Is there a secret or obvious method that i've missed, or does no one have a clue? I know there are a lot of gurus out there, some credible and some credibull, theres too many for me to sort through, though I have started. If theres a way that works, I want to know about it, learn it and master it.
